The Gravitational Pull of Bernice Trimble

Rate this book
Iris is trying to hold it together. She may very well fly off the face of the earth if she doesn’t hang on to the kitchen counter. At least that’s how she feels after her mother, Bernice, a lively, recently widowed 55-year-old breaks the news that she has early onset Alzheimer’s. A new play about family dynamics and mental illness.

Fantastic show. Well written & clearly defined characters without too much "playwright blocking notes" adding or interfering. I would love to see it staged. Really interesting story about a family going through a tough medical diagnosis and the explosion of feelings in the aftermath.

A well-written, thought-provoking play.
Also, "The Unplugging" (I couldn't find it in the list), by Yvette Nolan. Another excellent, thought-provoking play, that I finished today--April 16.

I would be interested to see how the salt and pepper shakers are used in the blocking.
Loved the coming back to the timer at the very end.

It was good, a lot of foreshadowing that paid off in the end. I liked how she broke the fourth wall a lot to explain her thoughts
