A path through hard grass

Rate this book
Autobiography of German Jewess who escapes Germany just before WWII with her family to settle in Johannesburg, South Africa. She ends up as a journalist, spending many years in Zimbabwe and Zambia and was for many years a 'banned' person in South Africa because of her outspoken dislike for apartheid. Her life is full of upheaval that she takes into her stride with great equanimity. The writing style is unusual and jumps around but it works very well.
