A lot of pictures and examples make it seem like this book is step by step, but a lot of necessary starting out techniques or advice (how to use the tools, where to get molding or how to make it/what to look for) is missing and assumes you know this already. Thatd be fine if it wasnt presented as a DIY book. It is though and instead is more of a book that just lists examples of frames.
I don't know that I will ever use these techniques--a lot of work--but there are some terrific ideas in this book. The basic framing parts are helpful and detailed and the craft ideas for very different frames are great. I have a feeling my results, however, would not look as professional.
