Is the FBI agent her protector—or greatest threat?
Again and again, the people Maria cares about are turning up dead. Hanged, crushed, drowned. And in spite of all her powers, Maria can't seem to protect them. All she can do is keep away from the ones she loves the most—and hope that the witch hunter doesn't find them, too.
Because the hunter could be anyone—even Seth Hughes, the brooding FBI agent who claims to be investigating Maria for murder. From the moment they meet, the intense connection she feels with Seth tells her that their destinies are bound together…somehow. As the hunter claims another victim and zeroes in on Maria, can she risk getting close to Seth?

Actually 4.5 stars. This books was amazing and well written. I loved Maria and Seth along with all of Maria family. This was a really good murder mystery with an excellent added twist and touch of magic that very nice and believable without the crazy powers, but suttle magic and wicca practices. And the romance and sex is a nice touch to overall story. Really enjoy the only thing that took this down the half star is Maria behavior and stupidity in regards to a secrest of Seth. But overall highly recommend and very much enjoyed.

This riveting tale will have your complete attention as a witch hunter tracks down all witches with the intention of murdering them, creating an undeniable and suspenseful murder mystery. The romance, involving a witch and an FBI agent, adds a seductive storyline. Although I appreciated the narrative, I noticed that it was repetitive at times. But, this did not keep me from reading this captivating story.
This is the final book in a four book series. I found them all extremely scary. Lisa Childs keeps the reader on edge throughout the book. I recommend the entire series to anyone who likes psychological thrillers.
Maria is convinced she's cursed, several psychics have told her that she is followed by a black cloud, people around her keep dying no matter how often she tries to leave it all behind. There's an FBI agent on her tail but can she trust him, could he be the killer? She doesn't want to drag her family into the mess that is her life, but they want to help.
Full of twists and turns and it's almost a 4 star read but not quite, there were moments where it felt like the author had written themselves into a corner and weren't sure how to get out of it. Still it kept me reading, the two leads were quite good together.
"Childs combines strong characters and non-stop action for a satisfying read. Seth’s determination to find the killer and Maria’s resolve to make sure no one else gets hurt make them interesting and likable" (RT Book Reviews, 4 stars ).
It was ok. I read the excerpt and really liked it, so I decided to read the rest of the book. It wasn't so bad, it had its moments. But the plot was very predictable and easy to guess.
