Good and Grown: A Second Chance Love Story of Healing, Faith, and Black Womanhood

Cena thought she knew what love felt like… until it broke her.

Fresh out of high school in Indianapolis, still trying to figure out who she was, Cena meets Tahe—and everything changes. For the first time in her life, she feels seen. Chosen. Beautiful in a way she’s never believed about herself.

But one night, one mistake, and one misunderstanding changes everything.

What should’ve been a love story turns into heartbreak, silence, and years of unanswered questions. Left to pick up the pieces, Cena finds herself navigating single motherhood, shame, faith, and the kind of growth nobody prepares you for.

And just when she thinks that chapter of her life is long behind her… life has a way of bringing things back around.

Good and Grown is an emotional African American women’s fiction novel that blends a powerful Black romance with a second chance love story rooted in faith, healing, and real-life choices. It is a story of healing, and growth, and becoming the woman you were always meant to be—even if it takes you years to get there.

Because sometimes love doesn’t come when you want it…it comes when God is good and ready, and you're Good and Grown.

Tantalizing Page Turner

A determined, young woman with a heart of gold and aspirations of becoming a singer. Her “helicopter” father was a driving force in her life but, unfortunately, too much at times…
She fell in love and held her own with pride which turned into love and loss and love again! A great pageturner through all the ups and downs. God always kept her best interests at heart, until she had grown enough to carry it the right way to be “Good and Grown.”

This was a beautiful coming of age 2nd chance romance for a Christian reader... has some romantic moments but they werent overtly sexual. I highly recommend this book for Christian fiction readers of romance books.
