Rate this book
Java Waters Run Deep is a Peter Talbert aviation mystery story set a few years into the future. Aviation insurance expert, Peter Talbert is trying to discover why a British airliner flying from Singapore to Adelaide disappeared from the air traffic controller's screen and plunged into the sea. The aircraft had been outfitted with the latest safety requirement of two crash recorders (instead of one), so Australian investigators quickly discover the wreckage.

In the immediate aftermath, the terrorist group, ISIS claims that it put a bomb on the plane but Peter Talbert and UK accident investigator, Mary French, do not believe the story. Talbert suspects military involvement and aided by the Australian 'beyond the horizon radar', JORN, he manages to establish what actually happened. However after the preliminary accident report is issued, Mary discovers that a very important Russian dissident and his family had been on board the aircraft, adding another puzzling dimension to the story.

Java Waters Runs Deep is the seventh Peter Talbert story and is a must for any enthusiasts of the aerospace mystery novel. Readers will enjoy very current political intrigue and aviation technology details such as locating crashed aircraft under water, multi satellite internet/phone systems with coded transmissions, over the horizon radars, ISIS and government terrorism, unmanned aircraft; in addition the book even re-organises the UK accident investigation facilities to bring them in line with US and Australian safety organisations.
