Not what I'd hoped,I was expecting more fuzzy Christmas feelings from this book and a more vivid feel of what Christmas was like in the Forts and pioneer homes of Canada. The information was all there but it seemed flat, even the diary entries and letters.

However this book is still interesting as it's mostly about Christmas in Alberta, and nearby provinces like Saskatchewan, going into Manitoba and BC a bit too. There's lots of interesting vintage ads and photographs as well as paintings of Christmas in the fur trade era.

If you want the facts, this is probably good,if you want the fuzzies and a less dry writing style, this might not be for you.
