A classic on the problem of suffering. Clarkson addresses the subject from a pastoral perspective than straight theological theory. There is tremendous comfort and encouragement for those experiencing the pain of loss and those who care for the suffering.

I only knew of Margaret Clarkson through a few of her hymns. She wrote this book out of her lifelong pain since childhood. It's very helpful, thorough, and a comfort especially to those facing physical suffering. Warmly recommended.
