Written in the 1970s. My husband unearthed it from god only knows where.

Anyway, it's pretty awesome, because it's giving us a historical perspective on the city. Some things have changed drastically (the meat packing disctict no longer has meat. It has been replaced with designer fashions), Soho is pretty darned safe these days, Tribeca is extraordinarily gentrified (and equally obnoxious), Little Italy basically no longer exists, Greenwich Village is no longer filled with junkies and bums.

Bruce and I have been having some fun trying to figure out which of the landmarks and business that are mentioned in the book are still in existance.

We did the Greenwich Village walk together. I think he'll probably do most of the subsequent walks on his own and then report back to me about the really cool stuff. Which we will then go see together.
