This volume compiles the work coordinated by the Scheduling Excellence Initiative Committee (SEI) to improve standardization and provide best practice guidelines for scheduling processes in the construction industry. It serves as a guide for all schedulers and planners from entry level to senior schedulers, as well as non-schedulers in management roles.
Good overview and review of scheduling best practices, why and how to use various scheduling tools. A good reference to have around for scheduling or project planning.
I have been involved in scheduling for over 20 years and know a good book when I see it. This is one of the best books on construction scheduling. I have never met Chris in person, but I took part in events and webinars, as well as project control summits where I witnessed Chris speak, present, and answer questions. Chris is an amazing man, an expert, with a ton of knowledge, experience, and inspiration, and with all that, a very humble person. Yes, you can indeed find a typo or two in the book, but this is so insignificant - what matters is that the book provides a great summary of the most important subjects, and is very helpful and insightful. If you see any publications or books by Chris Carson, you should know they are brilliant. There aren’t many professionals like Chris left in the world, so take every opportunity to learn from him!
