(2.6) The story is about a music band called the Vipers who missed their chance at being famous until one day they encountered a time machine and go back in time. They will try to change their fates in order to become a successful and famous band. During their journey, the most important discovery is finding themselves and the secrets between them. I think the story was enjoyable since I always love a good old time machine story. Unfortunately, this one was quite predictable and boring at times. The storyline was not impressive and the author could give more details about the characters, their backgrounds, so I can see some character development along the way. Also, it was fast paced a real quick read, each chapter has only 3-4 pages long, maybe that explains the lack of some elements. A very light read.

Thank you to the author for giving me a free e-book in exchange for an honest review.

My husband is a big fan of time travel, so I've read and watched quite a few time-travel adventures. Back To the Viper is a great addition to the genre, with a unique method of time travel that is much more believable than many. If you enjoy time travel, you definitely won't want to miss Man's novella, and I particularly enjoyed the moral that being rich and successful won't really make you happy while "mistakes" from your past may have been for the best.

This is an excellent take on the concept of time travel and being careful of what you wish for, not only cuz you might just get it, but also cuz when you wish for something and get it you might just lose what you already have. How much do you appreciate what you already have? Is there a choice in your life that you wish you'd never made, that you regret, and you wish you could take back? Everything you do affects everything moving forward. Some things in life might be fixed, others might be optional. What could you lose or gain if you changed just one moment in time? Great book, great concept, great formula, fantastic characters. Nothing stagnant or stale about this one! Great read!!
I received this book at no charge and have voluntarily and happily reviewed it. Opinions expressed above are mine and not influenced by the gifting of the book or any other outside situations or concerns.

Not a bad little read in the time-travel genre. I liked the method of transportation back to a previous time, and that the story covered the changes that the 4 characters made to their lives and their feelings about it.

My main issue with this book is that the ending was a little abrupt.

Overall, a very quick, enjoyable read

Antara Mann has created a very different type of time-travel for this novel - not your huge Dr. Frankenstein machines or super-scientificy (sic) stainless steel super-duper super colliding machines creating black holes! [I won't give it away - you'll have to read the book to find out]

This is a more existentiallly oriented story - what change would you make in your past if you were able to?
A garage band from the 80's which flopped decides they are going to go back to the one pivotal point in time that could change their lives.
But what of the downstream effects that decision makes occur? Would they be happy? And what of the ripple effects?

The characters developed by Antara are believable and developed both in the current time-line where the questionable decision was made and in the looped time-line.

The story is not deep and complex as it could be but overall is a very satisfying read.

Gripping Read.

Have you ever thought if only, have you ever wished you could go back and change something you did or how you did it? Four unsuccessful band members did exactly this some years later after going their separate ways and living a less glamorous life style than they’d originally dreamed of. Did it work out? Did they achieve that fame they had so desired? Well unfortunately you will need to read the book to find that out, but I can promise you it will keep you enthralled as the story shines a light into each members lives before and after their consciousness, is taken back to a moment where a wrong decision had put an end to their careers.
Loved the characters, and loved the concept. The only criticism I have was I would have like it to have been longer, and the end!!!!! Dam it, there better be a follow up.

I received an advanced copy for an honest review.
Back to the Viper is a novella that asks the question if you could go back in time and change the outcome of one event, would you? The four members of the band, the Jackel, are presented with this opportunity. This was a quick, fun read that let's you imagine "what if?" through the band members perspectives. Who hasn't wondered how things would change? But what if things didn't turn out exactly how you thought? What about going back to what you had? Ashley, Craig, Chad, and Wayne discover things about themselves and their relationships through the experiment. I think I would have enjoyed the book more if had been a little longer and more details/ background revealed. Overall, it was an enjoyable read that alludes to another book in the series ( that's hopefully longer).

A fresh take on the time travel theme. "Back To The Viper" by author Antara Man is the story of an unsuccessful music band who travel back in time to fix past mistakes. I'm really glad I gave this book a shot. I enjoyed it from its great premise at the start all the way to the finish. I think the strongest element of 'Back To The Viper' is the writing itself, particularly the dialogue and the characterization of the main characters. This book is hard to review without giving too much away as its based on the simple, yet ever fascinating premise of time travel. It's a great read and I highly recommend it!

I actually really liked this book because it makes you wonder what you would do in the same type of predicament. !0 years ago a band known as the Vipers, missed their chance at stardom, now the four member group has found Harry Neil and his special invention that takes people back in time. Readers are taken back in time to see what happens when the four are faced with changing their lives. Interesting subject and fun to think about. The author did a great job in an interesting look at what we all think about, what if you had done the one thing differently that would have changed your life.

Entertaining

I enjoyed this short story. (Outside of "Beverly" being spelled wrong, "Beverley Hills"), it was entertaining. I read a few time travel novels & this one was a little different as the actual bodies never left the present time period. Kind of a different twist. I liked the way they saw how their lives were changed by their changing of the past. If you're looking for a nice get-a-way short story, I recommend this one.

This is the second book I've read by this author. I really like her writing style. This book deals with four characters and tells the story from each of their viewpoints. These changes in viewpoints are handled excellently. I read this in one day, so it's a quick read and fun as well. I loved the ending--hilarious! I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

A very good story. Who wouldn't want to go back into the past and do things again? This is well written and pulls you into the story. It makes you think 'what would i do?' Although I found it a bit short it is a worthwhile read. I would recommend it to other fantasy readers
