A story of love, envy and vengeance, that begs a question. What makes people so different? Is personality and even popularity a birthright? Or are these traits instilled, through a life of influence, whether that influence is good, or bad?

George, born to a popular couple, from a small and peaceful village, near the West Yorkshire town of Huddersfield, had led a charmed life. Adored by his family and friends alike. He had a smile for everyone and, in turn, had that natural ability to make others smile.

Hard working, at school as well as on his Grandfather’s managed farm, he learned honesty and integrity. He learned humour from his mother and patience from his father. And he learned compassion, from Lilie, the love of his life, who he met at a very tender age.

That love grew, as they grew but the love and dedication to each other was to be tested to the extreme, as jealous eyes started a chain of heartbreaking and disasterous events.

This is a fast moving story of love, envy and vengeance which keeps you gripped all the way through to the unexpected ending. Mike Tamblin has a writing style that keeps up the immediate, urgent feel to the text. A worthy first work. Can't wait to see his works in the future.

Loved this book. Follows the life of a farming family, and particularly the life of George from birth to much older. It keeps you gripped and is both happy and sad. A twist at the end. Highly recommended read. I will definitely read more from this author.
