Tricia O'Neill Politte has a MA in English from Penn State. She taught English and Theater at Northern High School in MD for over 30 years, where she was known as Ms. V. She finished her career as a Nationally Board Certified Teacher.

Her retirement includes a second marriage, writing, acting in community theatre, and interpreting history at George Washington's Mount Vernon.

The Magic Heart was prompted by a friend's daughter not getting a part in a play.

As a high school teacher, she saw many students discouraged and saddened by disappointments and sorrows.
She wanted children and adults alike to know that the strength to overcome these hurts is inside each of us. She hopes The Magic Heart will help them through the heartaches.

A Supreme Court Justice read The Magic Heart and wrote a letter to Tricia saying, "It is a wonderful book and so inspiring. I love it."

Every book that is purchased enables Tricia to give away books.
She has given away hundreds to hospice centers and school libraries. Most recently she delivered 200 books to Volunteers of America to include with food boxes to children in Baltimore.

In 2019 she co-authored the first book in the Bald Princess series, The Bald Princess Discovers Her Superpower. Rachel Rose Gray, who shaves her head and visits children in the hospital, had an idea for a bald princess who is not sick, just different.
In 2020 their second book, The Bald Princess Dazzles the Queen is out. During Covid, Rachel is not able to visit children, but these authors are finding ways to get their books in the hands of kids
These books encourage children to be friends with others who are different from themselves and to see their potential to make the world a better place.

Thank you so much for helping us give books away every time you buy a book.
