As you can see, I read this book in one day. The story flows effortlessly, following the journey of Sigrid. The book has the perfect balance between historical fiction and fantasy. Set in the town of Visby in the 1400s, we get to experience how life must have been then, and the beliefs that permeated Swedish medieval society. The characters are well developed and we understand where they are coming from.
If you like dark fantasy mixed with a bit of history, this is definitely the book for you!

Entertaining story by a new author, set in the town of Visby (Götland island, Sweden) in the 1400s. Has some fantastical elements, plus some descriptions of life in the Swedish middle ages.

Having just spent a week in Götland and visited Visby during the Medieval festival (I bought the book directly from the author during the festival), it was fun to recognize places the main character hangs out in on either side of the town walls as places we had been wandering around in.

I met this author during medieval week in visby(same city as the book is set in)
And bought the book from her in the renfaire market.
What i first loved about it was that she was swedish but had written the book in english.

I read it during that same week, and it was such a cool experience to read a book set in the city i was visiting and touristing in for the first time. And Visby is such a cool and fascintsting place, perfect for medieval fantasy.

And I quite liked the story. I'm no reviewer so i will keep it short.
It was a sad but empowering story of a young girl finding herself and breaking free.
Loved it, no notes!
