About the author

Dr. Gearóid Denvir is an Irish academic, author and editor best known for his works of literary criticism and analysis as well as for his involvement in the Irish language summer school movement. He has previously taught at the Universities of Hamburg and Toronto as well as at the National University of Ireland, Galway. His fields of research include 19th and 20th century Irish literature, oral literature, cultural critique and sociolinguistics, with particular focus on the work of the eminent 20th century author Máirtín Ó Cadhain.
