My beautiful mother asked me several times to read this book, which I thought might apply to her life but not mine, so I never quite did it. Then she died, and I was (and am) bereft, so I started trying to do the many things I should've done before we lost her. Not amazingly, she was correct that I should've read Light for My Path long ago. Maybe I would've understood more about her life and more about my own future because the book is actually a terrific guide through challenging times, with Bible references to help cure most wounds.

Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling save with a person ; having neither to weigh thoughts nor to measure words but to pour them all out, just as it is, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keeping what is worth keeping, and then, with the breath of kindness, blow the rest away.
