Short and helpful introduction to an ancient Christian practice

Many people believe that meditation is an exclusively Buddhist practice, yet this powerful technique dates back to the early Christians. Sadly, it has been lost to much of the modern church and often viewed with suspicion, which is a shame as the world needs a way of finding God away from the noise of the world and our internal chatter and distractions. Christian meditation creates space for God's Holy Spirit to "break through" and avoids an over reliance on our own words. It works alongside other forms of prayer and worship : I follow meditation with intercession and scripture. This short book describes all you need to get started with this simple, but often challenging, practice in just a few chapters.

An easy read, and thorough

This is a very useful guide to Christian Meditation as taught by John Main. Freeman concisely covers the background and the process and includes a list of resources for further reading.
As an introduction to Christian Meditation, this is a very useful book.

This is good for what it us. Be aware that this is a very short introduction to the practice of Christian meditation with list of resources. That being said, there is a lot of wisdom in here. I found it helpful.
