I can’t say I’m an expert in the BDSM lifestyle, but from what I’ve read, trust and after-care are an important part of this kind of relationship. Nate never explains things to Hadley to calm any of her concerns beforehand and in fact practically pushes her out the door after their first sexual encounter. Although I could understand that Nate felt he could not love his submissive, surely there has to be a certain level of mutual respect and consensus on what both partners would enjoy. It would appear that Nate does not feel the same way and the relationship suffers accordingly. I don’t know if this is the first in a series, but be warned there is no HEA here!
