This book gives a reasonable overview of the 2nd Generation JavaScript MV* frameworks that have come about in the past few years, most notably: Ember.js, AngularJS, and Backbone.js. The authors viewpoints are relatively unbiased, although mostly based on his own experiences, and not necessarily battle-tested in a team environment. That said, few people would probably have the work experience to write about using *all* of these frameworks in a deeply meaningful way as many of them are so new.

I found some of the survey information on other frameworks such as Meteor, Batman, CanJS, very tersely covered, and in this sense it had very little value to me, other than maybe making a note in my mind as something to Google later.

Early portions of the book had examples linked to jsFiddle which I found to be very helpful for playing around with concepts. Later chapters of the book have a matching Github repository linked where you can download the sample application built in the three competing frameworks. Nevertheless, I found the frameworks explained in so much detail in later chapters, that I rarely made reference to the code in this way.
