Frank Bartleman is not fully recognized for his role in the early Pentecostal movement. His documentary history of the revival in Los Angeles provides a realistic and journalistic look at the origins of the Pentecostal faith. Bartleman is brutally honest, and his book made me hungry for a real Pentecost--a revival rooted in repentance and burden for the lost.
