The author takes the reader deep into the tormented heart of the man he might have been and explores a fictional past that might explain his savagery. While the text is gritty at times, and roughly follows the historical timeline of the facts, Jake Wincott is purely a figment of the author’s imagination. N. M. Bell gives the infamous mad man a human face.

A romp through foggy old London town with a twisted, tortured man Jake, who stalks women through the stinking, grimy streets. Rats, mud, urchins, loose women, drunk men, and rough trade abound. All that sets a wonderful backdrop for Jake This is like a scary old black and white movie. Definitely not for the squeamish.
