Ughhhhhhh. Loved the movie. The novelization is horrendous. My son and I kept plugging away at it. My son: "It's like he has to describe every single little detail of what happened even if it's getting boring." He didn't want to give up on it, though, so we read until the bitter end.

I didn't actually read this book, I watched the movie, and it made me tear up so bad! Great movie though - any movie (or book!) that will make you cry is a well written story.

Shaun the Sheep decides that he and his fellow sheep need a day off from the work on the farm and the farmer’s bossy sheep dog Bitzer, so they trick the farmer into falling asleep and tuck him into bed in the camper. If only it would have been that easy! The camper becomes unmoored and heads into the city where the farmer loses his memory leading to a situation that goes from bad to worse when the sheep and Bitzer try to bring him back to the farm.

This junior novelization is based upon the 2015 animated film Shaun the Sheep Movie and follows the plot of the movie exactly. It would appeal to middle grade readers with its slap stick action and the short chapters. There is also a bonus section of color stills of the scenes from the movie. I would recommend this book for purchase by any library with a demand for popular movie tie in materials.

Shaun is bored. Life on the farm is getting too predictable. He makes a plan to get the sheep a day off. At first the plan is working! They loll the farmer to sleep, place him in the old camper, and then start making smoothies and popcorn in the farmhouse. But then, the plan goes haywire. The old camper is heading to town and the farmer must be saved! Shaun, his friend Bitzer, and the sheep all must work together to save the day. Will the farmer get his memory back? Will the animals escape from Trumper, the animal control officer, and will they all make it back to the farm? It is a cute book and a fast read. The downside is that there is little dialog and lots of "this happened and then that happened", but such is the challenge of making a "silent" movie into a book. Best for 3rd to 5th grade.

Shaun The Sheep is a simple book that's simple to read.

When The Farmer rolled away in that caravan, Bitzer was doomed.

I like it at the end where The Farmer regains his memory, i have watched the movie and this book is so much better.

A very good read, highly recommended.
