2017 update!
I am revisiting this book because I am currently four months postpartum, have two under two and am smack-bang in the middle of a big renovation at home.I am lacking motivation and feel drained, and am sure this book will help get me back on track. I am a big fan of healthy eating and fitness but am guilty, like anyone, of getting caught in a slump. The detoxifying and cleansing juices in this book are delicious and a great way of getting my greens in. This book seems to be my go-to for motivation when I need it!

Over the last number of years, but especially since I gave birth to my first child 15 months ago, I have become particularly interested in health and fitness. I thought I would review some of the books I have read in this area and have started a new shelf to reflect this.

I have never seen an episode of TOWIE but have been following Lucy Mecklenburgh online for a while. She is a great advocate of healthy eating and fitness, so when her book was released in January 2015, I was eager to pick up a copy. Since then, I have referred to it a number of times, but especially after my son was born and again last night. I am already looking at getting fit after this baby!

Lucy's book is great for advice and guidance around detoxing, sensible eating, exercise and fitness, and basically living a good, healthy life. Nothing here is ground-breaking - there are juice and smoothie recipes, porridges, soups, salads, etc. - but it is Lucy's positive and motivating approach to her new-found passion that is inspiring. She focuses on nourishing the body and choosing the right foods to help your body feel good from the inside out. Her exercises are so energising, are easy to follow and will work the whole body. She shares some great tips about making healthy choices and incorporating healthy eating into a daily routine, even if it's a very busy one. She even shares her top tips for feeling confident and becoming the best version of yourself by following her straightforward six-week plan. The personal section of the book - Lucy's story, if you will - wasn't overly-interesting but I enjoyed reading about her all the same.

A good book to get you started, especially if you're in a rut or lacking motivation and looking for a bit of a push! Lucy Mecklenburgh is stunning and seems to glow with health.

I've never watched TOWIE so I had no idea who the author was. The general nutrition and exercise advice all seems sensible but the 'my life' stuff wasn't of much interest to me.
