The Screaming Rock
Don is scheduled for execution in the morning, but claims innocence. Why would he kill his best friend, Bob? He wouldn't. He only had three beers, but cops claim he "reeked" of alcohol and killed Bob in "a drunken rage". Would Don's attorney come through with a last minute stay? Or will an innocent man pay the ultimate price? Don is only sure of one thing: he is not crazy.

March 4, 2015As the author of this short Horror story, I will not post a review. I could tell you it's the best story ever written, but why should you believe me? Besides, it's NOT the best story ever written. By a long shot. It's not bad, but it's not great, either, in my opinion.
Nevertheless, in order to get this off my TBR list, I have to post something here. So I might as well tell you this story is 'not bad'. I liked it as it is, naturally, or I wouldn't have published it yet. Several readers have also contacted me to say they enjoyed it, too.
I don't blame you for not wanting to spend a buck on a short story from an unknown author, so here's what I'm going to do. Every story I publish - which will be a weekly event, barring any unforeseen circumstances - will be FREE the first weekend it is available on Amazon. That means Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. (I'm retired, so I observe 4-day weekends now.)
Plus, after I've published 10 stories, I will combine them in an omnibus edition, which will be available for $2.99. That way you're only paying 30 cents per story, instead of a buck. In the meantime, check out some of the stories when they're free. If you like them, great. If you don't, you'll know not to waste your $3 when the omnibus comes out! What a deal!

Another great story from AJ Coonley! This is a short tale with a gargantuan story and lesson. If your friend offered you the blue pill, the red pill, or just the little pill that looked like a baby aspirin would you take it? Would you think of the impact that small drug could have on your life for a couple of hours? What if those hours turn into a lifetime?

A good story. I like good endings, and in short stories that is often lacking, but this end was satisfying.
