These Fiery Hearts

Rate this book
From the banks of the Amazon to the quiet corners of growing up, this debut poetry collection gathers the pieces of a life lived in color, chaos, tenderness, and truth.

Written across more than a decade - from teenage years to the brink of adulthood - these poems explore self-love, childhood dreams, the immigrant experience, grief and loss, first loves, friendships, and the soulmates who find us in unexpected ways. Each page holds a fragment of the author’s journey, shaped by the lush rhythms of Brazil and the ache and beauty of becoming.

This is a book about remembering who you were, honoring who you are, and embracing who you’re becoming.

I really loved these poems. There is a mixture of darkness as well as happier ones! And I loved that I was able to connect to some of them in my own way. So proud of you Jess!! Beautifully written

A beautiful book of poems exploring the darkness and light of a life with so much more to come. I can’t wait to see what comes next from Jess!
