The cliff from the last novel into this novel was scary but thankfully nothing dramatic. It resolved itself quickly. Again the previous novel could be shorten and combined with this one.
I still skimmed and skipped past the flashback scenes. It was good for folks who do not read these novels back-to-back on a daily bases like me; but for folks like me, it was redundant and took up space.
The section of the guys meeting explaining how everything was connected with the recent "episode" of Jade and Mike was a lot to digest. I had to read it slow so I understood everything and didn't miss anything too.
[SPOILER ALERT] Also, wished the twins Mike/Jane had were boys and not girls. Just too many little girls floating around now...
Overall, the beginning was a little slow but the rest was action packed making it a page turner. Definitely some shocking surprises or developments too. You also get the sense that the series should be closing soon too - I think 5-6 book are left and that's a lot.
Such a great book! Seeing the family fighting to keep themselves safe from Rebecca, Josh, Megan, and all the twists and turns of trying to stay two steps forward, and at the same time wondering what Stephanie's Uncle Brent has to do with this, especially after being presumed dead...and in the meantime, welcoming Jade and Mike's girls, and keeping up with David and Bee going to preschool and Josie and Naomi, and Tramp and Hope, keeping the days lively....it made for a great read, and I can't wait for Book 17 to get here to see what happens next!
