Tangled Tokens: Book 1 of the Reunification Wars

Rate this book
The Cen War is over. Half of what used to be the United States is in shambles, and long range and travel by air have been severely restricted by Cen devices. The east coast lay in radioactive ruin, leaving three would-be states. Texas, Cali, and Shadow. Superhumans and preternatural beings, as well as the human-animal hybrid soldiers left behind the Cen, seem to outnumber ordinary folk.

Talia Graves fled Cali to Shadow, trying to stay below the radar and merely survive prowling the shadows of the Puget Sound. Unfortunately for her, she attracts the attention of a local do-gooder, a vampire by the name of Finnegan Crow. Crow tells her he has won’t turn her in to the authorities if she agrees to go to work for him.

Talia never imagined herself a do-gooder. All her life she swore she’d never be a victim. Yet it had been the betrayal of her former friends that forced her to flee Cali and seek refuge in Shadow. Taught her that anyone could be a victim, even someone like her.

She needed some way to salvage her pride. Maybe joining the side of the angels would help. Maybe it wouldn’t. But anything was better than being turned over to the Adjuster’s Office. And, really, what could it hurt?

About the author

Saje Williams

14 books9 followers
Saje considers himself a Northwest native, despite having lived his early years in places as far flung as Hawaii and California. Some of his earliest memories involve hippies and concerts on the Stanford campus, but swears this hasn't influenced him all that much.

He was raised on SF and Fantasy, though he pretty much read anything he could lift off the shelf. If he looks familiar and you think "hey, maybe I went to school with him," you very well might be right. He went to 9 different junior highs in 3 states and 7 different high schools in 2 states.

He has two teenage children who live elsewhere, a spouse who lives with him, and entirely too many fur-bearing critters underfoot.
