Biker's Wrath: Property of Trigger

Rate this book
Janelle, a plus-sized Black woman on a healing journey, wanted a quiet night. Instead she ends up committing a heinous crime in self-defense and calling the one man she knows villainous enough to help her cover it up...

Zebulon Blackwood, a tough, ex-Army ranger promised his family he would stay away from trouble...
This definitely includes women on the run from felonies.
But when he met Janelle at a local biker bar,
He wanted her more than anything...

When Janelle calls him for help, Zeb can't resist.
He revs his bike and rides to her rescue...
He can make her pain (and crime) disappear...
As long as she follows him West.

Zeb can't promise safety on their journey.

They're sharing one bike.
One bed.
And they're both one wrong move from losing everything.

Zeb holds the line, forcing himself to keep his hands away from Janelle.
But the further away they get from home,
The harder it gets to keep his hands off of the plus-sized black woman
Sharing his once lonely motel room bed. Book #11 is Zebulon Blackwood's story. He's another ex-Army Ranger in the biker club, working to establish the beta chapter of the Barbarians on the East Coast. This is a book about another member of the Rebel Barbarians Motorcycle Club and part of the Blackwood family story lines.

Overall 3/5. Spice 4/5. I did not enjoy this read. The initial set up was good but the characters (Zeb and Janelle) were not well developed. She starts out devastated from a long term relationship going left after she finds out he has been cheating for a long time and she was completely oblivious. Ok. I’m here for that. She is assaulted and kills the assailant then reaches out to Zeb (who she had only met in a club 1 time) for help. They trek all over the place to complete his assigned job. They are semi pursued by a reject motorcycle club. Also throw in some very loosely connected stuff with other club members. Zeb’s development and underlying motivations are never quite clear. There are some contradictions in his stated money status vs how he moves. The political references got old for me. I’m experiencing, in real time, her commentary and as such I don’t want to read about it. I read for escapism. This was not it.

Beautiful Love

I love the fact that Zeb loved Janelle the moment he saw her, but was unable to say so. I love that he knew he wanted her, but was unable to say the words, but he was able to show that he wanted her. From the moment he met her in the club, he wanted to protect her and to show her how much he wanted her and how he was different from any other man she ever met. I love how from the moment he and Janelle were together, Janelle, Saul, that Z was different from any man she had ever known and he was willing to show her by his actions that he was different and that he truly loved her. I love that even though Janelle fought it, she knew Isaiah was the man for her, and no matter how much she ran, she always knew to return to him. Jamila Jasper wrote a beautiful love story when she wrote the story of Trigger and Janelle.

Massive improvement, this was really freaking good.

Can we talk about improvement? We got a proper story, with a cohesive plot, great character development in this series. This one was a really good slow burn, interwoven with past, present and future characters in this series. I think this one might actually be my favorite thus far. It seems like the author took all the criticism and actually improved. This book was really freaking good, short and sweet no sweet. Thoroughly well written, looking forward to the other two books.
