Enid Mary Blyton (1897–1968) was an English author of children's books.

Born in South London, Blyton was the eldest of three children, and showed an early interest in music and reading. She was educated at St. Christopher's School, Beckenham, and - having decided not to pursue her music - at Ipswich High School, where she trained as a kindergarten teacher. She taught for five years before her 1924 marriage to editor Hugh Pollock, with whom she had two daughters. This marriage ended in divorce, and Blyton remarried in 1943, to surgeon Kenneth Fraser Darrell Waters. She died in 1968, one year after her second husband.

Blyton was a prolific author of children's books, who penned an estimated 800 books over about 40 years. Her stories were often either children's adventure and mystery stories, or fantasies involving magic. Notable series include: The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, The Five Find-Outers, Noddy, The Wishing Chair, Mallory Towers, and St. Clare's.

According to the Index Translationum, Blyton was the fifth most popular author in the world in 2007, coming after Lenin but ahead of Shakespeare.

Something about her writing style that even though this book is set in the early 20th century; even though though the language is outdated; even though the characters only have one personality: it makes me love it!

So I guess my mum was in the supermarket one day when she passed the place where they sell books and being really lucky she discovered one of Enid Blyton's classics; with 'happy days' on the front cover. And when I read this story it really made me appreciate my mother more. For her generosity and for her good eye for classic books. I won't say it was funny (old style kids humour, not much for my taste) but it had a childish quality that I really enjoyed.

"Немирността" и желанието на зайчетата да печелят пари (за лимонада с магданоз например) стига дотам, да пишат поеми по поръчка, за по петдесет стотинки ...

Binkle and Flip are two naughty rabbits always scheming to make money, which always ends going wrong. I think it's more Binkle scheming and Flip going in with the plan. I love Enid Blyton stories as they are always well written and have a moral in the story. However, times have changed, and the things that the characters get up to, seem more like a matter of survival and the actual moral gets lost that way - times are tough. Still a sweet little story.
