Clare Garner thought life in Silver Pines might finally slow down ☕📚 — giving her time to focus on her relationship with Jackson and the quiet future they’ve been building.
Instead, she’s investigating his father.
Months ago, a mysterious note and a private request from Pate pointed Clare toward a decades-old courtroom scandal involving Harlon Edwards. Now that she finally has time to dig into the past, old records, whispered conspiracy theories, and the town’s “court birds,” 🐦 regulars who follow courtroom drama the way others follow football season, begin turning up troubling clues.
With loyalty pulling one way and the truth pulling another, Clare must decide how far she’s willing to go. Because if the rumors are true, Jackson’s family legacy may not be what it seems… and uncovering the past could change their future forever.
Murder from the Past is a charming, clean cozy mystery set in the world of Silver Pines. Each book can be enjoyed as an interconnected standalone.

When she’s not writing, Lyla can be found road-tripping through the Blue Ridge Mountains, sipping endless cups of coffee or tea ☕ and daydreaming about cozy inns she might renovate someday—minus the dead bodies, of course.
A great book! Glad to see the resolution of her dilemma of which boyfriend! The mystery was vey puzzling and the characters are great. Can't Wait to read the next book in the series which is supposed to be the last. It comes out in a month.

I won this one in a Goodreads giveaway. I have not read the first 6 in this series. It was short and to the point. Definitely start from the beginning if you want to read this series there is a lot of talk about things that happened in previous books.
