Excellent Book
William Stroock has added another book to his superb alternative history series on a fictional WW3 that occurs in 1990. The book is well written, exciting and riveting. The storyline contemplates how Ireland might have reacted to a major world war between NATO and the Warsaw Pact. Stroock has clearly done exhaustive research on Ireland and the "Troubles." When reading the story I was awed by the author's knowledge of all the factions and groups involved in the complex issues found in Ireland in the late 20th century. Stroock tells the story from all sides of the conflict to include the Catholics and Protestants of Northern Ireland, the British and the Republic of Ireland. He also keeps the reader abreast of developments in Washington, Moscow and other parts of the globe involved in WW3. Besides his thorough research Stroock is a master of character development. He blends fictional characters as well as historical figures to weave his storyline. I am a huge fan of alternative history novels but no author has covered a fictional WW3 as thoroughly as William Stroock. I've read other WW3 novels but no one else has shown the impact that war would have had on the whole globe. This series of books and this current novel are phenomenal and a must read.

Interesting take on the way World War 3 would occur using revolution in Ireland. I am looking forward to the next book, they did mention many different ways it could go. It will be interesting to see if William Strook will continue with Ireland or move back to Europe, Asia, Caribbean, Central America or somewhere else. I do recommend this series to anyone interested in scenarios for World War 3.

Another good entry in this series. At some point in the future, it would be nice to see a combined edition of the story.
