Hal's Lost Unicorn

Rate this book
Hal gave away his prized unicorn and found his new daddy.

Stuck in the pouring rain at the side of the road in a town I have lived in for exactly one day wasn’t on my to-do list, but here I am. Stupid flat tire.

No problem. I have roadside assistance…only you need a phone for that and mine just fell into the storm drain. I’m screwed.

When a car pulls up, I prepare to tell them I’m fine and don’t need any help. Safety first and all that. Only the man who comes to offer help has me doing the opposite. As he makes quick work of my tire, I break down, telling him everything that has gone wrong in the past two days and, and it’s a long list.

I want to repay him for his kindness. He refuses my money. I can’t let him go with only a thank you and give him the ultimate reward, tucking my prized unicorn bracelet into his jacket pocket.

Guess whose office I’m sent into?

Guess who’s wearing my bracelet?

And guess who’s looking at me like he might not be done rescuing me just yet?

Hal’s Lost Unicorn is a sweet age play romance featuring a little who gives his unicorn away and finds his new daddy, a daddy who knows a treasure when he sees one, boss/employee lines blurring, snuggles, cuddles, stuffies, footie jams, a memorable day at Chained, new beginnings, some old friends, true love, and a guaranteed happily ever after. If you like your romances on the Hallmark side but a bit kinkier, check out Hal’s Lost Unicorn by USA Today Bestselling Author Della Cain and her bestie and frequent partner in crime, Kaytea Kat.

A new town, a new home, a new job, a new start. It should all be good. Shouldn't it? Hal is moving because of changes in his company but his first day in the new town does not go as planned. His car breaks down, his phone goes down the drain, literally, and he slips his precious unicorn bracelet into the pocket of the man who saves him. The man who, as it turns out, is the boss of his boss' boss! Yes, they work in the same company. They also attend the same club. One as a Little, one as a Daddy. Does this mean there could be something between them? There is definitely something simmering!

It takes an illness to really show Hal how sincere August is in his attentions and the more time they spend together the more obvious that becomes and the more Hal can settle into knowing he can be both his Little and his Big self. It's absolutely adorable, addictive reading and comes with very little angst just a few steps for each party to go through since being Daddy/Little but also being in a Big/Big relationship isn't something to enter into lightly.

The Daddy's of this series are extra good at finding lost things and that includes Little's as well as their prized possessions. They love to care for the men in their lives, they love to see them happy and I love to read their stories. Yes, this is book 17, yes, as you might expect the feeling of each story is a little similar but there is always something about each on which is different, fun, exciting, the unknown. Plus familiarity with the different characters makes reading these stories feel like coming home. Utter comfort in book form.

This is a Great Story to Read!! Hal is transferred to a new department and gets a new apartment. On his way home he gets a flat tire in the rain, while trying to call for help he loses his phone. August Jones changes the tire and gets Hal back on his way home out of the rain. August is surprised to find the bracelet in his pocket, after he said he would not accept payment. Monday morning Hal is called to a meeting and he sees the person that helped with his tire. When Hal ends up sick August is worried and goes and takes care of him. August takes Hal on a real date to Chained during the open to the public event where they walk around and look at all the different things that are there. August buys a few things that might come in handy one day. August is in the process of renovating the house he is living in, his Grandfather originally built it for his Grandmother and now it needs to be updated. Has Hal found his Forever Daddy??? Has August finally found what he has been searching for??.

Hal has a rough start in a new town when he gets stranded in the rain with a flat tire and no way to call for help. A kind stranger named August stops and helps him, and in an emotional moment, Hal opens up about everything going wrong in his life. Wanting to repay him, Hal secretly gives him his treasured unicorn bracelet. The next day at work, Hal is shocked to discover August is his boss—and still has the bracelet—hinting their connection might not be over just yet.

This was such a sweet, feel-good read! Watching Hal stumble into meeting August—who turns out to be the Daddy of his dreams—was absolutely adorable. Their relationship is full of warmth and tenderness, and it’s clear they’re perfect for each other in every way, whether Hal is feeling little or big. The dynamic between them just works so naturally, making their connection even more heart-melting. A cute novella that’s guaranteed to leave you smiling by the end. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

I loved this book! Another daddy from Chained will find his little and it will be amazing! Hal has moved to a new apartment to be closer to his new job. A late night flat tire will change everything for him when a kind stranger stops to help. But it’s not just any stranger, August is a daddy and they happen to work for the same company. Neither thinks they will see the other again but that is not the case. Things start off slow but it isn’t long before they are spending a lot of time together. Their relationship progresses slowly and soon they are also daddy/little together. A lonely kitten found in the parking garage will help bring these two together under one roof for their happily ever after!.

Book 17 of the Found by Daddy series. Can be read as a standalone.

'Hal’s Lost Unicorn is a sweet age play romance featuring a little who gives his unicorn away and finds his new daddy, a daddy who knows a treasure when he sees one, boss/employee lines blurring, snuggles, cuddles, stuffies, footie jams, a memorable day at Chained, new beginnings, some old friends, true love, and a guaranteed happily ever after.'

The characters drove the storyline and they were so very appealing and likeable and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. All in all a great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

This is a story about Hal and August; Hal is a Little and August is a Daddy, they meet when Hal has a really bad day. They later find out they work at the same place. The beginning is very slow, August is a very soft Daddy, he doesn’t even make sure Hal knows he is interested in him. The story is fine, but I didn’t feel a strong connection between Hal and August. This story also builds on the last story in this series, Ernie’s Lost Puppy, and it does help to read that book since the side characters are the same. If you like a quick, insta-relationship, Daddy/Little story this is okay.

This is a really cute story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading about August who is a Daddy without a Little boy whom he longs for. That is until one rainy evening he stops to help Hal who had a flat tyre and was stranded on the side of the road without a phone to call for help. August shows up and helps Hal who won’t take payment for helping him so Hal slips his unicorn bracelet into August’s pocket. When Hal arrives at his new workplace he called into the big bosses office, he is happy to see August there and he is wearing his bracelet. Hal invites August to dinner, but chickens out and orders takeaway for him. This is a start of the beautiful romance and a happily ever after.

At the start Hal is not having a great day as he just had to move and then his car breaks down. All that changes when he's helped by August. For August helping Hal is a memorable moment especially when he finds a unicorn bracelet in his pocket that he concludes is Hal's. This book was different to other books I have read as this daddy/little relationship is forbidden. These two work together so it had secrecy and tension of them not being caught. Hal was such a thoughtful little as he didn't assume things and was willing to try new things. I loved the way they showed August was caring. Caregiver August was definitely one of my favorite parts. And the cameos from other books was icing on the cake.

Hal is moving because his job is transferring him. The place he moved to is extremely noisy, so on his way back to his new apartment, he stops to get earplugs. Unfortunately, it's pouring down rain, and he ends up with a flat tire. If that's not bad enough, he drops his phone down a drain. August, a stranded driver, stops to lend his help. He absolutely refuses to accept any payment for changing the tire to the spare. But when Hal is gone, August can't stop thinking about him. As fate would have it, Hal is one of the employees who has been transferred, working for the same company as August.

Just when you don't think Della Cain can write anything sweeter, along comes "Hal’s Lost Unicorn". Hal certainly had a 'horrible, terrible, no good, day". Pouring rain, flat tire, phone commits suicide. Not to mention, new town, new job.
But Daddy August comes to his rescue. It's a meet cute that turns that 'horrible, etc. etc' into something promising. Both for Hal's Little side and his Big side.
Absolutely precious. The Daddies of Chained can't be beat. And there are lots of cameos from our other friends.
A fast read that will definitely put a smile on your face.

Hal is in trouble. It's pouring rain, his tire is flat and he lost his phone. A Daddy type stops and helps him. Hal is so grateful, he slips his most favorite unicorn bracelet in his pocket. The Little expects he'll never see his Daddy hero again. But his Daddy turns out to be his Boss's Boss at work. With friends in common, a love of "Chained" and irresistible attraction, they are perfect for each other. Short, sweet and simple. I received a copy of this through BookSprout and this is my voluntary opinion.

I absolutely adore all the books in the Found by Daddy series. And this one is just adorbs. Hal and August first meet was just fate making its way until their ultimate meet in August's office. I really love office romances but since August is not really Hal's supervisor, so dating...getting to know each other was not even a problem. I loved their chemistry...August was such a gentle daddy and Hal was his sweet boy. Their romance was great...their HEA was even better. I can't wait to read more in this series.

A good quick read with solid pacing and a storyline that kept me interested. I really liked the development between Hal and August, and their dynamic was enjoyable to follow. If you enjoy daddy/little books, this will definitely appeal to you. The only reason this wasn’t a full 5 stars for me was because I noticed a few typos throughout, but overall I still enjoyed it.

This is part of the “Found By Daddy” series. I really loved this storyline and the characters. It is perfect if you need a nice, low angst, quick read. Hal and August’s balance between their ‘big’ and ‘little’ relationships was lovely.

Overall, this was a great DDlb novella.

I'm obsessed with Della Cain's books, and the connection between August and Hal is a perfect example. The innocence and joy that Hal's character encapsulates, versus the protective and caretaking persona that is August just really works for me. She regularly includes former couples in the stories, which refreshes those tales and I'm escaping to a fantasy realm for a while. Much appreciated Della!!.

Hal's Lost Unicorn reads a little differently to the usual book in this series in that it's nice slow relationship build. After a chance meeting everything becomes kind of serendipity. It has a sweet and understanding and caring Daddy in August and an adorable Little, Hal who I first came across in Elliot's lost puppy. Waiting for more from this entertaining author for sure!!! Hal's flat tire introduces him to a great guy

When a knight in shining armor stops and changes Hal's tire in the pouring rain, August wouldn't let Hal pay him. Hal puts a prized unicorn bracelet in August's pocket. After a slightly bumpy beginning, their relationship moves along smoothly. When will they get their HEA?

Cute Addition

Cute addition to the series. A little short but well flushed. I am just curious as to why the next generation in the family buys the house from their parents. And so on.
