Jim Nelson is an accountant to "put beans on the table", but writing is his passion. He has a variety of books - some fiction, some photography, and some history. He also has a collection of short stories. Many of his works are set in the areas of Glenwood Springs, Marble, and Redstone in Colorado, and Tombstone in Arizona.

He has also been appointed the official Alligator Control Warden of Garfield County.
