About the author

John Panteleimon Manoussakis was born in Athens, Greece, and educated in the United States (Ph.D., Boston College). He was ordained into the diaconate in 1995 and into the priesthood in 2011, receiving the distinction of an archimandrite. He is a Honorary Fellow of the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy at the Australian Catholic University and he is the recipient of a Templeton Foundation grant. He is the author of three books, editor of five volumes and he has published over thirty articles in English, Greek, Russian, Serbian, and Ukrainian.

A wonderful contribution to the Orthodox-Catholic dialogue which does not shy away from the reality of the chasms and bridges that exist theologically between said dialogue. Manoussakis has a clear grasp on patristic texts which he expresses clearly and concisely in this artfully written book. Unfortunately, there are some in the Orthodox world who are blinded by their sheer disdain for Catholics. They like to say what the Fathers are saying, but they don't read what the Fathers were writing. This is where Manoussakis is different from many others. He does justice to the Fathers of the Church while also accurately expressing the views of Orthodoxy. Based on this work and his other works as well, one believes that he will be the next John Zizioulas.
