Censorship: Opposing Viewpoints

Rate this book
As U.S. society struggles to protect both its culture and its right to free speech, there is ongoing debate about whether censorship should ever be allowed. The authors in this anthology explore a number of facets of that debate, censorship on the Internet, censorship in relation to America's war on terrorism, whether free speech should be censored, and whether freedom in the United States is threatened by censorship. Censorship: Opposing Viewpoints is one of few novels that shows two sides to the same argument while at the same time being able to show those arguments equally. This allows you to be swayed by one argument but by the end of the next have completely changed your views on the topic. Censorship has always been a sensitive topic that many people are simply unaware of the problems it presents. Many consider any censorship in the slightest to be simply atrocious, without even knowing that it is a major part of our everyday lives. One major problem I have with the book is partially due to my own opinions, as unfortunately some of the arguments wrought within the confines of this masterpiece made me laugh more than I ever took them seriously. You'll have to read and see! Every person who has had the honor of having their extremely important and clearly oriented opinion in this wonderful novel agree on one thing: Censorship is a necessary part of everyday life in order to protect our next generation. Personally, I would recommend this book to any person who wishes to be informed of less-than-known problems that still, when presented, are a huge point of discussion in society.
