This is a six week devotional/women's bible study covering psalms 1, 34, 37, 49, 73, and 111. It is divided into personal study during the five week days consisting of bible verses then a personal story by one of the seven authors of the book. At the end of the week are questions for the group bible study.

What I liked: The personal stories were well-written and interesting. I especially liked the stories Put Your Blinders On about not feeling sorry for myself, and A New Attitude about not being envious of others. If you're a cat person, which I am, you would also probably enjoy Never Be Ashamed and The Eyes and Ears of God

What I didn't care for: Perhaps this is a case of it's not you it's me. I've always wondered what makes a bible study geared for women. Why are these psalms any less important or meaningful for men? All scripture is God-breathed and useful for instruction after all. Moreover, this study is light on scripture and heavy on fellowship. I have no problem with mingling with my church sisters, but I would prefer more in-depth bible time and less personal sharing. The Suggestions for a Small Group were common sense courtesies that in my opinion should not have been mentioned. It left me with the impression that if you didn't prepare for this week's lesson, don't bother coming and holding the rest of us back. Personally, I don't think that's a way to encourage women to join together in the study of God's word.

I prefer the Today's Light bible study, also available in the church library. I have read it twice and both times, I found things I had overlooked in prior readings of the bible. It breaks the bible into sections followed by a short devotion. If you read a little bit every day, you can complete the entire bible in one year.

A six week bible study reading through a psalm each week. Five readings and a recap. Each week we encounter a new psalm and a new writer. These were interesting and I enjoyed reading each daily reading.

Psalms 1, 34, 37, 49, 73 and 111. They all had something to do with being planted by streams of water.
