I liked the concept in this book that true beauty comes from inside and the emphasis on girls taking good care of their bodies as well as having positive self-esteem. However, I cannot recommend this book to my Christian friends as the premise is based on New Age ideas such as searching for an inner light rather than God for our self worth.

I bought this book for my 8 year old neice's Christmas present, and read it before I wrapped it last night. I think it has a wonderful message for young girls around this age. It talks about finding the beauty within each and every one of us, and how that inner beauty, which is composed of love, kindness, joy, and other good qualities, shines through to make a person beautiful from the inside out. It was a little hokey at times, but overall I am happy I purchased it for her and I hope she likes it.
