THE EXCITING CONCLUSION TO THE DUCHAMPS' DYNASTY SERIES!

Rosalee Davenport is proud and prickly. She’s also desperate. Thomas DuChamps had offered to help her save her family’s home by turning it into an inn, but that help came with strings… attached to the gorgeous heir, Justin DuChamps. But Justin is more than a pretty face. Artistic, kind, caring, awkwardly endearing, he’s a bad boy who reformed himself. He’s also determined to help her whether she wants it or not, Rosalee doesn’t know what to do with a man who wants to give more than he wants to take.

Justin has battled his demons and, if not won, at least came out on top for the moment. Balance is important to him, in all things. But Rosalee, with her gorgeous curves and kick-butt attitude, throws him off from the get-go. Surrounded by the eccentric Davenport women, possibly contending with a haunted house, and locking horns with a woman who makes his blood boil in every way that counts, Justin hasn’t felt so alive in years. He wants to take care of Rosalee, to be her rock when she’s been everyone else’s for so long… But trust is an issue for her and when her ex comes around, he sees why. Can he convince her that she can trust him enough to lean on him, and that leaning on him won’t make her weak? Or will stubborn pride be the downfall for both of them?

Perfect end to a series

I choose this rating because it is the perfect ending to a series about people overcoming their demons in life, and everyone's fear of loving and that love being returned through the good, bad, and ugliness in life. Now if men like these existed in real life this would be a happier at the least more satisfied world, or I run in the wrong circles.

Sweet

This is the third book in a series about three siblings who were raised by their beloved Uncle Thomas when their parents die in a car accident. Each sibling is given a task that takes him/her WAY out of their comfort zone in order to get their inheritance. Each of the tasks is secretly designed to help each sibling address their demons from their past and help them find love. This book focuses on Justin, the youngest of the 3, who is tasked with restoring an inn that needs lots of work.

I must admit that I had a hard time getting into this book and put it down several times but made myself pick it back up bc I try to make a commitment to finish every book I start. I wasn't sure I like the heroine, Rosie, whose caution and guardedness re relationships was almost over the top. She was so defensive and snapped at Justin a lot!!! Justin, the hero, has trouble expressing himself and when he does, he tends to be socially awkward and blunt. Then the inn that he has to fix up allegedly has ghosts, a plot line I wasn't exactly thrilled to see. But if you hang in there, the book is well worth struggling thru.

The relationship between Rose and Justin is definitely different. They are both petrified of love and yet Justin is willing to take the time and wait patiently until Rose is ready for more. I liked reading about their emerging relationship and really loved Rose's grandmother Maeve and her daughter Addie. The ghost subplot ended up not being as bad as I thought, in some ways it was cute, but I don't think it enhanced the reading experience and it could have been omitted.

I really enjoy the author's books and am sad to see the series end.
