I have waited to read Dietrich's story for so long and I was not disappointed at all. Deitrich is everything you thought he was and more; he's sexy, cocky, funny and strong. However, he's a man with a past that was rough, left him beaten and damaged and he keeps everyone at arm's length for a reason. Jorunn doesn't know what she is and her life is slipping away; its only a matter of time. The whole "Unit" is in this book and in order to stop destruction from happening, they must help and protect Jorunn and at the same time find the Sahidic. Deitrich is in charge of Jorunn's safety but what he never expected was to feel what he does; he lets no one in, yet she slips through his cracks. I love that everyone from the previous book was back in this book in full force. Boundaries are tested, secrets are revealed, lives are in danger, past and present collide, everyone wants to survive but not everyone will. If you're looking for a great paranormal read that will make you laugh and have you on the edge of your seat, look no further. I read this book in one sitting and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series "The Black Prince."

What to say about this book...D is f*€£ing hilarious!! His attitude and the things that come out of his mouth literally make me laugh out loud.
This one is different from what I'm used to seeing in Tigris' work, but it was still awesome! Lots of tension between D and Jo. I love how it all came together in the end. Of course we see other Unit members and "see" glimpses into their relationships, which I am glad for considering this is one of my favorite series!
Some characters showed their a**es and I can't wait to see what happens with them in the future!
It didn't end in a huge cliffhanger. I have become accustomed to that with this series and author, but it was a nice change. There are definitely things that need to be resolved, but I'm satisfied for now. ;)
I highly recommend this book for PNR fans who like humor in their stories.
I recommend the whole series!!

**I received an ARC for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.**

How a cold-hrearted Primori is thawed out...
Paranormal at it's finest...a book full of witty humor, exciting adventures, twisted situations which leave you with your mouth agape, intriguing characters and an interesting plot.A story about a Badass Primori Walker who had seen and experienced hurtful circumstances and great personal loss...meets the ONLY woman willing to satisfy his needs without any expectations...without discrimination...with a heart full of forgiveness and understanding. She helped him wake up from the hatred he felt and filled him with a new emotion he never knew of before...that of LOVE! No matter the backlash he fed her, tiny slivers of his true self began to surface metamorphing him into the man he used to be. 5 badass stars for this kick-ass novel!!!

Ms. Eden grabs your attention hard and fast with a tale of betrayal, redemption, discovery, and growth all wrapped up in a snarky, sexy package across multiple dimensions. If you like your heroes a bit alphaholeish, you will probably love Dietrich. He's an absolute jerk at times, but when he caves, it's meltingly delicious. :)

This is Dietrich’s book; while we got to see another side of him in Redeemed in Shadows, it was still just a peek; he was still all closed off and tight-lipped. This book gives us, finally, a view into who he really is.

It picks up RIGHT where Redeemed left off, as in Belinda hasn’t even given birth yet. Eden’s continuity is on-point in this series. (I cannot comment on editing/proofing too much because I read ARCs, but the formatting is gorgeous too, series-wide.)

Love is in the air and I won’t tell you whether Dietrich goes with it or fights it… we get a glimpse at his past and why he’s the way he is and it’s well done. There’s no shortage of action, tragedy, family drama, heat and there’s a bit of violence, all in true Shadow Unit fashion. We see more of Enri and I’m still not clear exactly who’s side he’s on, other than his own, but we get the promise of more on that front and as I’m writing this, I’m itching to dive into ‘The Black Prince’.

Despite being an ARC, it was actually pretty clean. I loved the mythology aspect, it felt real and I often, while reading this series, find myself loving the ‘information’ I’m getting into various deities and other legends.

Really fun read, couldn’t put it down.

bit all over the place

To be fair, I jumped into a series at book 4, but the writing style felt rather jerky & abrupt. It s a paranormal adventure/ romance that seems to be interconnected couples as well as larger connected plot. This book focused on a jerk womanizer who is part of the Unit, some sort of immortal police? (with a partial redemption- we learn his main tragedy is being captured as a slave and losing both his sisters as triggering his immortal transformation, and he has been searching for centuries for the sister he still thinks is living. ) The female character is a very mousy/submissive girl thatisnot sure what she is but seeming to be dying. They are told by mysterious figure that taking her along on their mission to find apwcial relic so lead to solving her mystery/ potentially saving her life. They are both strongly attracted (hints of fated mates), but he is not interested in love, only saving his sister. Some hot scenes, and fairly high on adventure, characters (both male & female) often abrasive & unfiltered. She grows a bit more backbone & he partially redeems himself & confesses his love at the end, so it meets it romance requirements.

This was my favorite book in the series thus far. I do think TE missed an emotional moment by not showing Calebs body and soul unite.

I will say, TE's character descriptions are confusing and often contradictory. The female characters' complexions are all over the place.

This is the first time for reading anything by his author and what amazing story. This is the story about D and he was sold into slavery by his own people. and he learns from a young age that you can't trust anyone. When you are raised as a slave it's all about betrayal for one thing, and you learn your place in life. As we go into the story D works for the shadow unit, and he has ever done anything for anyone , his defenses is always up ,he's strong. and he always wants to gain for good. His life is like a game of chess. I found myself laughing so much about some of things he came out with, could believe how hilarious he was. Author Tigris Eden wrote such a strong character for D that showed through the whole book and that was amazing to make, and the secondary characters finish out the storyline great. The relationship between D and Jo had so much tension between that you have cut it with a knife.it felt. I would go on and tell you more about this great book ,but then that would be giving out spoilers and that isn't fair. I highly recommend this series for anyone who like PNR who likes some humor with their stories. I would like to recommend read the whole series you won't be disappointed.

I am a huge fan of this author - she is among my top five go to reads! I have been waiting and waiting for this one! Dietrich is my favorite Primori. The book reads well on it's own but hell - you really are hurting yourself not to read all the Shadow Unit books.

We all love to hate Dietrich or as they call him D! D, takes no crap and dishes out the butt holiness in epic proportions and with style that is all his own. Then he meets his match in the lovely character of Jorunn.

I adored the way we finally get to learn about Dietrich's life, past and what exactly makes him the worlds biggest Prick. But, it was so much fun watch him finally fall in love. Of course,he does it in his own style and I really wanted to slap the crud out of him from time to time.

If you are looking for a wonderful series to curl up with as the weather starts to cool, read the series so you can love to hate D and then love him again. Can't wait for the next book! I highly recommend this book if you love PNR at it's finest.

*Since I did the editing on this work, I cannot speak of any errors I may have or may not have found*

This is the book all Shadow Unit fans have been waiting for. This is the story of everyone's favorite Primori, Dietrich Johnson.

I give Tigris a lot of credit, D is tough male to sell. He's an a-hole of the highest degree and doesn't care about anything but his own end game...Until he meets Jorunn.

This book is probably the most emotion-driven book in the entire series. I promise the reader is still going to have that love/hate feeling for D, but at times, he's going to get in the reader's head and make some melting happen.

We learn about D, in this book, which was beautifully titled by the way. I think this book is far deeper and delves deeper into D's live, past, feelings, so the reader can finally see the real man under the Primori guise.

I can't wait to see what happens next in this series. Keep the gems flowing, Tigris.

I give this book 5 of 5 paws.

Dietrich has grown on me since the beginning, somehow I always wanted to know more about him, so this book was one I awaited with baited breath. And he didn't disappoint! Tigris Eden writes him without holding back. His talking, his thinking, his acting, all so very alpha male and totally convincing and even if you want to throttle him sometimes, she always makes him understandable and still loveable through all his BS. I really enjoyed the book - especially after the hard times Jes went through - and I adored the heroine here, once again a strong woman who holds her head high but is never arrogant, with weaknesses and a lot of strength and a very interesting form. This story takes us in a wonderful world with interesting animals and people, one I'd like to hear more about. And this Black Prince? Bring it on, Tigris, I am ready!

Good read

I have been waiting on another Unit book for awhile now. I was so excited when I saw it that I bought it right away. As always things are a little sticky with the crew. There is still some grieving even in the happy moments. True like how things played out and can't wait for the next one.

This was another great book in the series. I love how they introduce new characters to the story. I wonder how they merged the boys body with his soul that Faith had?

This is Jorunn McLellan and Dietrich Omari (real name) Johnsons story which drives you you absolutely "nuts." D seems to hate everybody, doesn't trust anyone and yet, Jo comes along and turns his emotions upside-down. The constant love you, push you away was a bit annoying and Jo's never ending understanding and forgiveness drove me to distraction that i sometimes found myself glancing over the pages.........don't do it!! There is so much going on in this series that you can't skip / glance over anything or you will miss something.
The plot itself is developing and getting very exciting. All the characters are still involved in this story. There is action a plenty, a bit of "loving" and even a bit of happiness.
I already have the next book and cant wait to get stuck in. Goodness knows what i am going to do once i have caught up in the series........definite withdrawal i think!
If you are a lover of this genre then start at the beginning and be prepared to be in reading heaven!!
