Hullo all! My name is Anie, I'm autistic, and I wrote/illustrated a book on what it's like to live in my head. Visuals of my oversensitive sensory system, the surreal nature of living with Synesthesia, illustrated maps of social/sensory theories I've made to make sense of the world, the history of the people who live in my head, and more. Temple Grandin says; "I looked up your book on the internet and it is absolutely gorgeous. Your book is really beautiful and it should be published. I think it will help people understand the sensory world of a person with autism. You are a really a great artist. Anybody who is interested in creativity should experience your book. You have permission to use the email to promote the book. I'm a social autistic, a layabout with Panic/Anxiety Disorder, and a hard-wired optimist with clinical depression. I am oversensitive to stimuli but overdose on it willingly, my synesthesia enhancing it all the more. I'm a reclusive and fragile, but I'll jump off a cliff if I feel there's something important to learn from it.
Because my mind is a... special case, I felt compelled, nay, duty-bound, to fill the void between the outside world and the various states of mental aberration that I hold. There are times I've felt I was made for this sole purpose, and for the longest time I feared dying with it unfinished.
Now I fear it no longer.
I live in Montclair, NJ, with my wife and my seven feather children.
One last thing; Though the book can now be bought through Amazon, I have decided to keep the PDF version of it online for free.
this book is AMAZING! you get a perspective on how people with autism, synesthesia, and other disorders function day-to-day. Anie Knipping is an amazing illustrater and author and provides maps, diagrams, pictures, and endless pages of her life. I DEFINITALEY reccomend, very "deep" and inspiring read. sometimes a little boring but read!
