A good read that will drive you a little crazy giving you a full range of emotions. The characters can be irritating, infuriating, charming and sweet and they have great, steamy, chemistry! A quick read with a story line that moves quick enough to hold your attention and wanting to find out what happens next.

This book is so full of passion, and misunderstandings, I could not put it down! It was frustrating sometimes to realize the misunderstanding, and I had to keep going to find out if they would be resolved. A host of emotions during my read. Looking forward to the next book in the series!

Sound of Regret was a solid debut novel. Like the other two reviews said, it was a little angsty but I like my books that way. In my opinion it just made the chemistry even hotter when they finally did hook up. There was a happy ending so it worked out fine for me.

Boring. Never really thought that the whole 10 years of treating like shit was addressed properly or grovelled enough or given enough emotions and insights as to why he was like that.

Ellie has loved Jack since high school, but kept that to herself. Jack had a rough childhood and never wanted marriage but took that chance with Ellie’s roommate Macy and proposed to her. Not thinking him being the lead vocalist of a band would lead to anything, Macy tells Ellie she is leaving and give her the ring to return to Jack and walks out of the apartment. That night when Ellie has to break Jack’s heart she ends up giving him a very precious gift which then starts their long history of being on and off. Jack’s band does become successful and that gets him into all kinds of trouble. Realizing that Jack wasn’t going to change after years of their unconventional relationship, Ellie has to protect her heart and ends their relationship. With so much between them over the many years, can they really be okay without the other in their lives?
I am not the biggest fan of books written in third person but this author did a great job of pulling me in and keeping me wanting to finish the book. I was also happy to see that she told the story from both Ellie and Jack’s perspectives. There were a lot of ups and downs in this book along with angst, tragedy, laughter, and promises. I found some of the book predictable but there were plenty that wasn’t. I do feel that the author needs to reedit the book as there were plenty of typos in the story that became too much to be able to overlook causing me to have to lower my rating. If she were to do that this would most definitely be a five star book.
We had interactions with Ellie’s best friend and the other band members bringing more to this story. They could tell things the way they were to help clarify things to either Ellie or Jack. I am looking forward to reading future books about each of these characters as they each have a story to be told.

This was a pretty good book. Jack and Ellie have known each other for years and have been in each others lives for a long time. They met in high school and Ellie was always interested and in love with him. Jack started out dating and becoming engaged to Ellie's somewhat friend and roommate. Jack is in an up and coming band as the lead vocalist and the friend/roommate screws over both Jack and Ellie. They end up hooking up and then having a friends with benefits relationship for almost 10 years.

Ellie is a wonderful person who loves Jack with all of her heart. She's known how talented Jack is and she knows the band will make it big. She is powerless to stay away from him. She just hopes that one day he would come around and realize that she's the one for him. They would take breaks in their friends with benefits relationship so he could go off screwing other women and every time it would just break her heart. After awhile she can't handle it anymore and lies to him about having a boyfriend to put distance between them.

Jack is so very talented and made for fame. He had a pretty rough childhood and doesn't really believe in marriage and children. He was willing to give it a shot once but that woman hurt and betrayed him. He's cared about Ellie for a long time but he doesn't believe he is good enough for her. He sees all the wonderful things about her but doesn't think he is what she needs.

Worth reading.

OK, starting out it was really good. Though, in some ways I felt that Ellie's obsession with Jack was over the top. But their relationship in general is very complicated. Bordering on Friends with Benefits and an actual relationship. Going on for nearly a decade. Ellie finally decides to let him go. She is fighting it but like any sort of addiction, she does give in. More than once.

After months of not being together, there's something they tears Ellie apart and Jack goes running to her. Finally, someone that wants to take care of her.

Throughout the book you are taking ride, seeing how far their relationship will last. I actually, really liked Jack. He really changed from the beginning and grew into this man that any girl would want. But at some parts Ellie really irritated me.

I think that the writing was a tad over descriptive in some parts but overall it was a good read....Lissa

First 50% of this book was fantastic. Loved the storyline and kept me interested. By then the next bit was tough going. Just boring and was close to not finishing. However last 20% picked up. It was ok. A nice read.
