Ruth McDowell's Workshop series of books has excellent knowledge for me to learn construction techniques and design information. I plan on ordering this book back and working through the lessons and projects.

Well done. Offers an alternative to applique for making pictorial quilts, although the technique can also be used for abstracts. I want to go through the exercises of piecing different kinds of seams. Although I lean more toward piecing than applique, I'm not sure yet if it's worth the trouble. But this book seems clear and comprehensive.

As a quilter, this book revolutionized how I look at fabric (and to the delight of local quilt shops, has changed how I buy fabric).
