Displaced Fairytales

Beastly Dreams: A Cozy Fantasy Fairy Tale Retelling

Rate this book
A grumpy tavern owner, his sunshine barmaid, and the curse that traps them together.

Running his grandfather’s tavern is all Roan ever wanted—though the failing budget wasn’t part of the dream. But when a rogue sorcerer curses him, sending everyone into a magical sleep except Roan, his too-cheerful barmaid, and his loyal dog, his priorities shift break the curse before he loses everything.

Abigail has never felt safer than she does at the Lucky Goat, despite how miserable Roan is at times, and she’ll do anything to keep her found home intact. At first, an opportunity to tackle the never ending to-do list without distraction seems almost like a blessing, but the pressure of hiding her own magic—and pretending she isn’t falling for her grumpy boss—is a whole different kind of trouble.

Trapped together in the tavern, Roan and Abigail begin to discover that opposites attract…but when the magic unravels, will breaking the curse also break the spark between them?

Torn from one fairytale and trapped in another: the Displaced Fairytales series is a multi-author fairy tale retelling series of standalones from your favorite closed door young adult romance authors. BEASTLY DREAMS is Beauty and the Beast meets Sleeping Beauty with clean and wholesome forced proximity, a grumpy sunshine boss romance, and an adorable dog companion.

Gabrielle Landi lives in Southern Indiana with her husband and children and has a soft spot for every stray cat that ends up on her front porch. When she’s not writing, she spends her time chasing children, wishing there was more coffee, and eating chocolate like it’s her job. If she had to write her own love story in tropes, it would include second chance romance and a secret relationship, and would be entirely unbelievable.

I received this arc ebook from the author in exchange for an honest review. First off, the cover is stunning! This is a mashup between Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty. Honestly, I wanted a bit more of the two fairytales. I felt like it was too short and the story was rushed. This is set in the same place as her other fairytale retellings and features some of the same characters such as Thea and Nathaniel. Roan has appeared in previous books and was the Gaston character in the Once Upon a Rose. He is also Nathaniel’s brother. I personally didn’t like him until close to the end of the book. Abigail was all sunshine and smiles. I had a hard time connecting with the characters and getting invested in the story. I didn’t like how much they talk about Roan’s chest and taking his shirt off. It was uncomfortable, weird and unnecessary. It happened on more than one occasion and he even teased her about taking it off. At one point, she was ogling him. I just didn’t care for it. This was definitely not my favorite by Gabrielle Landi. Normally, I absolutely love her books. But this was unfortunately a miss. I definitely will continue to read her other books.

I was very lucky to receive an ARC of Beastly Dreams. This book is a cozy retelling of Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast and the second book I have read in the multi-author Displaces Fairytales series. Gabrielle Landi has such a knack for writing cute and heartfelt romances.

I was pleasantly surprised that Gabrielle Landi was writing a second Beauty and the Beast retelling as she had already done a fantastic job with her previous story Once Upon a Rose. At first I was also a little skeptical that Roan was the main male character but his grumpy personality worked well with Abigail’s sunny demeanor. The pair are very well matched in an opposites attracted kind of way. I love how protective Roan is of Abigail making her feel safe at the Tavern The Lucky Goat and around him which is something she hasn’t really felt before. I am also curious to know more about the magic community she was a part of growing up. Also Roan’s dog Beastie is very cute and fun too.

The storyline also reintroduced the evil sorcerer from previous books. I can’t help but wonder what is true motivation was for casting the curse and what other trouble he will cause in the future.

Overall Beastly Dreams is a wonderful book that fairy tale fans will love. I can’t wait to read Gabrielle Landi’s next book!

Torn from one fairytale and trapped in another. Beastly Dreams by Gabrielle Landi was such a fun and unique fairytale-inspired read! This story blends Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty retellings in a really creative way, and I loved seeing both classics woven into one storyline. Plus, it has gorgeous cover!

The concept was honestly so intriguing, and I really enjoyed the magical atmosphere and fairytale feel throughout the book.
That being said, the romance leaned a little too insta-love for me. I would have loved more buildup and emotional development between the characters. The story also felt a bit rushed at times, almost like it could have benefited from being longer. I wanted more depth and more time in the world!
Overall, this was an enjoyable and creative retelling.

Some tropes you can expect:
• Fairytale retelling
• Forced Proximity
• Grumpy Sunshine Boss romance
• Adorable Dog Companion

I’m so grateful to Gabrielle Landi for the chance to read this ARC early. Thank you for the opportunity. My review reflects my honest opinions.

Loved this novella by Gabrielle Landi from the Twisted Tales collection. It was fun getting to see what happened to Roan and Abigail during the events of Once Upon a Cat. Beastie steals the show, but Abigail's bubbly personality with Roan's gruff exterior was super cute. It felt a little rushed, but as it's a novella, that's to be expected. I loved how she started to tie some of the elements from the Galamere Chronicles together in this book.

Beastly Dreams by Gabrielle Landi is probably the best retelling I've ever read, period.

I've been waiting for Beastly Dreams since I read Once Upon a Cat and is did not disappoint!
Abigail, the FMC, was amazing, like probably one of my favorite FMCs, right up there with Ella from Once Upon a Pumpkin and Aurelia from Bearly Free. She was smart, strong, and brave. Instead of screaming at the top of her lungs and running away when faced with the curse (which I would of done, to be honest, lol.) she took it in her stride and worked to find away to keep herself, Roan, and Beastie (becaause how can we not include Beastie) alive while working with Roan to try and find a way to break the curse.

Roan...ok. Let's be honest here. I'm not sure anyone likes Roan from Once Upon a Rose. We disliked him. Some of us hated him. None of us expected him to get his own book. But here we are, and can I just say I like this Roan about a million times more than the one in Once Upon a Rose?
So if you're avoiding this book because of Roan, you should give this book a chance.

Beastly Dreams is the best book I've read ina while, and I would recommend it to everyone i know.
I loved the plot, the characters, and the romance in this book. It was fun and cozy read, and I read it ni pretty much one sitting. I love all books by Gabrielle Landi, and Beastly Dreams was no different.

So, I thought that my favorite book by Gabrielle Landi would continue to be Once Upon a Pumpkin, at least for a time. I was wrong! Landi has become more and more amazing with every book she writes and as such, Beastly Dreams is my new favorite! It is full of sweet and tender moments, cozy comfort, and a bit of humor.

I’m not gonna lie. I have been super excited for Beastly Dreams ever since learning that it stars Roan. Let’s just say I had a really good feeling that I was going to love this story. Roan and Abigail are the SWEETEST! Abigail is the perfect sunshine to Roan’s grumpy and I loved their every interaction. Also, have I told y’all how much I love when the main characters are stuck with each other against their will? Also, I feel like Beastly Dreams had a slightly more “adult” feel to it. There was nothing inappropriate at all but the romance felt deeper to me. It really drew me in from the beginning.

I loved the addition of the tavern goers and Beasty. They added a bit of comic relief and really added to the dance scenes. Yes, that’s right, DANCE SCENES! *Squeals internally* The curse threw me off slightly about a third to halfway through but I quickly caught on to what was happening. The curse in this story feels like a very fresh mix of Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast. Having read all of Landi’s other novels I was definitely suspicious of who the villain was and now I’m very curious if he will cause more problems in the future. Overall, I really loved Beastly Dreams and I can’t wait to read Landi’s next novels.

Thank you to Gabrielle Landi for an ARC of Beastly Dreams! All opinions are my own.

This was a sweet and amusing story, with themes of Beauty and the Beast. A man must learn to love in order to break the curse that has trapped him and others inside his tavern. He is a “beastly” man who has let his heart be hardened by his childhood, the poor example of his father, and the cruel treatment he experienced from others which has turned him into a grump who only cares about his dog and his tavern. Enter the sunshiny bar maid (with a history of her own) that gets trapped with him in his curse, who sees right through his rough exterior to the sweet and caring man beneath.

The romance was sweet and had many adorable moments, the story was fast paced and had a few twists here and there, and the overall feel of the story was like a warm hug after a tough conversation. I appreciated the redemption and unconditional love portrayed in this book, and if you’ve read Gabrielle Landi’s books in the Galamere Chronicles, you’ll love that Roan gets his moment.

I had the pleasure of listening to the audio book as well as read along in the ebook. The narrator is quite talented at portraying multiple characters and their varying moods and qualities. Always fun to enjoy a well narrated audiobook!

I received an ebook ARC and ALC from the author. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given willingly.

This clean and cozy fairytale mashup was amazing! I loved how the author melded Beauty and the Beast with Sleeping Beauty, taking elements from each story and blending them together perfectly. I enjoyed watching Roan become a softie, but only for Abigail while their relationship blossomed. It was heartwarming when they finally started opening up to each other, and discovering how poorly they had been treated in the past was crushing. The twists kept me guessing and wanting more. The narrator's inflections were wonderful with each scene and character, bringing the story to life. I highly recommend this heartwarming story to any no-spice fantasy reader!

Abigail is always cheerful and loves working in Roan's tavern ... even if he is a bit of a grump. But when a curse falls over the tavern, they're the only ones left awake, along with his dog Beastie. Forced to stay within the barrier that the curse put over them, they slowly learn to help each other with tasks that kept getting put off. As they open up about their pasts they start to trust one another with their secrets, and each other's hearts. But will they break the curse before the rest of the world wakes up?

I was lucky enough to receive both the ARC and ALC for this one, and as always, Gabrielle’s artwork is absolutely adorable. I ended up listening to the audiobook, and Jess Moran did not disappoint. Her narration perfectly captured the cozy, magical tone of this story.

While this is part of the Displaced Fairytales series, it connects to The Galamere Chronicles world. Roan is mentioned previously (especially in Once Upon a Cat as Nathaniel’s brother), so it was heartwarming to finally see his side of the story, particularly after he felt almost villain-adjacent in earlier books.

The premise is such a fun twist: a curse falls over the tavern, every patron falls into a deep sleep, and Roan and Abigail are the only two left awake… along with Roan’s dog, Beastie. Oh, and they can’t leave!

Grumpy tavern owner + sunshine barmaid + magical forced proximity? Yes please.

They constantly question whether they’re trapped in a shared dream or under a curse, and watching their relationship soften in the middle of that uncertainty was so wholesome. The *gasp* impropriety of being alone together while the entire tavern sleeps? Adorable.

Low stakes, cozy fantasy romance with warmth, heart, and just enough magic to feel dreamlike. A perfect weekend listen.

Another great addition to the Galamere Chronicles!! I love both Roan and Abigail. It was great getting to see what happened to Abigail after Once Upon A Rose, as well as getting to see the "Gaston" character from that book as well. Roan was a great character! He comes across as grumpy (I love grumpy men!) and harsh, but he is actually really sweet and protective. Abigail was a great match for him. She was all sunshine and cheerfulness. I love how they balanced each other so well.

The plot of the story was great and the story was well-paced. I do wish that the book could have been longer, but I think that this was a great length for this story.

This book was a great, short, cozy read and I loved it so much. I would definitely recommend it to those who just want to curl up on the couch and read a sweet, cozy story that makes you relax, laugh, and enjoy yourself!

I'm glad that we got to see a few of the characters from previous books as well, like Thea and Nathaniel! I can't wait to see more characters and I am really looking for towards Conrad and Linnea's story!!!

There are some trigger warnings- abusive parents, some implications of sexual harassment, estranged family after a death.

Best quotes: “I love you, Roan. So whatever is going through your head right now, I desperately hope that it has something to do with the fact that you love me, too.”

“She was smart and kind and beautiful. She had more kindness in her little finger than he had in his entire body, and he’d always known that, but he’d never been able to enunciate it so clearly before—because until now, he’d never spoken to her about anything other than the tavern.”

“I am so glad it wasn’t just a dream,” Roan said after a moment, “even if in the beginning I thought it was a beastly dream.”“You’re the only beast here,” Abigail responded, enjoying the frown that creased between his eyes, because it gave her the opportunity to reach up and smooth it away. “But you’re my beast.”She smiled winningly and Roan shook his head. “I suppose I can live with that,” he said, leaning in to kiss her again.”

Such a creative retelling of Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty!

I loved Abigail’s joy and kindness despite the struggles she faced growing up! It was also nice to watch her journey as she came to understand her inherent value outside of why she can do for others. She absolutely reminded me of Disney’s Rapunzel!

Roan’s journey as he learned to care more about the people around him was also sweet and it was nice to see how his interactions with the people in his life changed.

Abigail and Roan helped each other overcome their pasts and accept that they are both flawed but still worthy of love and care.

Definitely check out this book if you love fairytale retellings! And, while you’re at it, check out the rest of this delightful series following some of the other characters mentioned in this story, they’re all so sweet!

Thank you to Gabrielle for including me on her ARC team! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Beastly Dreams is a Beauty and the Beast x Sleeping Beauty mashup, where Roan is stuck inside his tavern with his barmaid Abigail after getting hit with a curse.

If you would’ve told me before reading Beastly Dreams that Roan’s love story would be one of my favorites in the Galamere timeline, I would not have believed you. I think a lot of people share that sentiment after reading Once Upon a Rose and Once Upon a Cat. Don’t let that stop you from trying Beastly Dreams! Gabrielle Landi does a great job working out Roan’s character, and we get to understand him a lot better.

Abigail made me so happy! She has such a sweet and lighthearted spirit, and I enjoyed watching her take everything with a positive attitude. She was a bright light in a bleak situation, and her backstory was very unexpected.

Roan’s POV in the audiobook was incredible. Jess Moran did a great job narrating for Roan. All his inner thoughts were edgy and made him sound annoyed, which made me laugh throughout every chapter in his POV. You won’t be able to take his attitude seriously if you’re listening to the audiobook.

Abigail and Roan’s personal and relationship development made Beastly Dreams a wonderful romance book. You definitely need to add it to your tbr!

I was really happy to get to read about how Roan & Abigail got together in this book after the brief glimpse of their story in Once Upon a Cat about Thea & Nathaniel (Roan's brother). While each story is great as a standalone they are even better when you have read both. Roan's dog beastie was also a really cute side character. The epilogue was a lot of fun and I am looking forward to reading about how Conrad and Linnea get together in A Taste of Tea and Tenderness: A Cozy Fantasy Thumbelina Retelling.

Gabrielle you did it again!

This book can be read as a standalone but for more context you might want to read it after reading the first 4 books in Galamere Chronicles or at least Tales of Cake and Comfort and Once Upon a Cat because they are Roan’s brother Nat’s story.

After reading Once Upon a Cat and learning about Roan and Abigail I knew I had to read their book and it did not disappoint.

I loved watching Roan develop throughout this book and his curse. It’s sad it took a curse for it to happen but I’m glad it did. He needed that little wake up call.

Abigail is amazing for putting up with him especially in the beginning because he was a beast. I loved learning more about her and her past.

I absolutely loved Beastie but who doesn’t love a dog. She loves Roan and will do anything for him and the tavern.

Overall I really liked this book and it didn’t last long in my inbox before I couldn’t wait anymore and had to read it. I read this book as an arc.

ARC REVIEW! 🥳🌹
Awww, this was so stinkin’ cute!!!

As a huge fairytale reader, I loved the mix of Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty! There were so many small references throughout the book, too, that I simply kept highlighting… because it brought a smile to my face!
And am I strange to have ALSO highlighted the area where he starts to look at her in a new light… when she’s showing him how he made a mistake in the finance ledgers…? *sigh* I love it when the numbers check out! 😍 (Ahem… Sorry. My occupation is shining through, I think.)

Roan was, indeed, a bit of a grumbly beast.
A person stuck in the past… not seeing or appreciating the things and people he’s been blessed with in the here and now. Getting to see him, eventually, let go of those things… growing into someone who loves the present. Enjoys life… *sigh* It was so sweet!

And Abigail! Although bad things have happened to her and there are things that she’s not proud of from her past… her determination to see the good in people and have a bright and sunny disposition is just so heartwarming! She really brought a Ray of sunshine to the page…

✨Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
✨Romance: Sweet kisses only (not described in detail)
✨Cursing/Swearing: None
✨Tropes
🌹Grumpy x Sunshine
🌹Opposites Attract
🌹Boss x Employee
🌹Forced Proximity
🌹Ladder Scene (I’m not sure if this is a real trope, but I’m making it one 😍🪜)
🌹Fairytale Retelling
✨Other Elements: There’s a moment when she walks in on him as he’s changing his shirt. Gives a moment of flirty-Roan (which I loved!), but keeps everything appropriate.

This was a really sweet, quick read. It’s a mashup of Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast. I love those fairytales, so I was very intrigued to see them intertwined. I thought it was really well done! I really enjoyed it.

Abigail was cheerful and likable, the perfect foil to grumpy Roan. Roan wasn’t the most likable of characters, but his growth from the beginning of the story to the end was great to see. And I absolutely adored his dog Beastie.

While this book is set in Galamere, the world where the author’s other books are set, it can stand alone perfectly fine. I did enjoy seeing the cameos from characters from her previous books, but don’t worry if you haven’t read those stories yet. I highly recommend this book to fans of closed-door fairytale retellings. I can’t wait to see what this author writes next!

I've been waiting for Roan's story!

When I heard that Beastly Dreams would share Roan's story, I was excited! Once Upon a Cat hinted that Roan was cursed after his brother Nat was, and I knew there had to be a story there. Landi delivered!

I fell in love with the tavern by seeing it through Roan and Abigail's eyes. Abigail's work ethic and determination to make her own path in life kept her on equal footing with Roan's grumpiness and possessive attitude towards his tavern. Together, they made the perfect pair. It was fun to see how Landi wove together elements from both Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty. Beauty and the Beast is clear, but the Sleeping Beauty elements were a bit more subtle aside from the obvious sleeping curse. I enjoyed locating the different elements and figured out more of them as I reflected on the book afterwards.

Beastly Dreams is a cozy fairy tale that focuses on two characters growing together and coming to terms with their pasts. A fantastic read. I highly recommend this book!

Beastly Dreams by Gabrielle Landi makes us read about a curse that brings people together.

A grumpy barman, and a sunshine barmaid this book delves into the lives of two individuals of different circumstances in a forced proximity situation. Imagine being stuck for days in an inn, being cut off from the world around you. Anyone in forced proximity will have to get closer, tensions running high. Though this book can be read as a standalone reading Landi's previous books gives more context to the situation.

It was a really long character arc for Roan but it finally felt good to see him forgive himself for his mistakes and become a better person. I loved Beastie and I loved Abigail's dedication to the inn and making a home for herself.

I recommend this book to any who wants a cozy romance.

Thanks Gabrielle Landi for the free book.

Thank you so much to Gabrielle Landi for this ARC!

This cute fairytale mashup takes place in the same world as The Galamere Chronicles, and ties in directly with Once Upon A Cat, but is part of a multi-author series of standalones called Displaced Fairytales. I enjoyed getting to see Roan and Abigail's story that was hinted to in Nat and Thea's book. And I appreciated all the little nods to Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty, I love me a fairytale retelling. I do wish it was a little longer and that more characters that we know and love from Galamere had made an appearance. It made this book feel very different from the others, to me, but maybe that's the point since it's technically part of a different series. I look forward to the next story that it hinted at (part of a different multi-author series).

Thank you so much to Gabrielle Landi for sending me ARC and ALC copies of this book! (This is in exchange for an honest review).
I always love reading books that a no-spice but are not religious, as an aro-ace agnostic. Overall, I liked this book, as I like all of her books. Similarly to Once Upon A Pumpkin, I felt that the characters were both very immature at first. However, I do realize that some of this was because it is a retelling of beauty and the beast (and also sleeping beauty, but it seemed mostly like beauty and the beast). I loved how Abigail and Roan were in each other's dreams, I think that's really cute and I loved the dancing scene. I'm glad we got this book to see more of Roan as a character and show more of why he did what he did in Once Upon A Cat. I'm excited to see more of the books from Gabrielle Landi, and the other displaced fairytales books!

I was really excited to pick this up, especially since I’ve loved Gabrielle Landi’s Galamere series. The Beauty and the Beast x Sleeping Beauty retelling where everyone falls asleep except the Beast is genuinely clever.

Unfortunately, the story and I were never on the same wavelength. The fairy tale tone felt heightened, but the emotional connection never quite formed for me. I struggled with how the magic and stakes were handled, and I felt disconnected from the characters despite the interesting setup.

I can see this working for readers who enjoy soft, aesthetic-forward fairy tale retellings and shared-universe stories, but this one just didn’t click for me. Definitely not my fave from Landi, but I’m glad I gave it a try.

Got this as an ARC. Thanks so much!

“Have I ever told you before that you talk too much?”

Are you looking for a sweet novella you can finish in one sitting? (If you’re a fast reader… like me 😂)

✨ Beauty and the Beast meets Sleeping Beauty in Beastly Dreams by @landiwrites
He’s definitely a grouch — broody, closed-off, and not exactly thrilled about his circumstances. Then a sleeping curse falls over his tavern… and somehow they are the only two left awake.

Cue forced proximity, slow softening hearts, and a story that feels like a cozy fairytale with just the right touch of tension. It’s short, sweet, and perfect when you want something light but still romantic and magical.

If you love fairytale retellings with grumpy heroes and a touch of enchantment, this one’s for you. ✨📖

Aah I absolutely loved reading this novel! I loved the way it was written, the lavish descriptions that painted a picture in my mind as I read and the characters that were created so life like. Everything about it was so likeable and I really liked Roan and Abigail, the way their characters were so different but together it seemed so right. I loved the progression of the storyline and I loved the twist on Beauty And The Beast mashed with Sleeping Beauty, it was a retelling in a way that I've not read before and that made for a refreshing changed. I loved Beastie, that pup was so cute
I actually loved everything about this novel, the nods to the characters in Galamere Chronicles were a lovely touch too.

This was such a fun retelling Gabrielle does wonderful mixing up much loved parts of Beauty and the Beast with Sleeping Beauty.
Roan is a grumpy MMC. But all so lovable. He’s not cruel or mean, just not an overly people person. Abigail is sunny, she is so overly kind. When they get trapped together we watch as love starts to bloom softly between them. I loved how Gabrielle took little bits of the fairytales and then twisted and manipulated them to create a cozy and entertaining story.

Narration: The narration was done by Jess Moran. She does an amazing job making the story come to life and keeping a listener engaged. She puts a good amount of emotion and emphasis on key moments of the story. I will be listening to more narrations done by Jess.

This audiobook is romantic and for a cosy evening with a hot beverage and a blanket.
It has beautiful fairytale vibes and an incredible animal companion. I laughed, cried and grinned.
The narrator is lovely and I really enjoyed listening to it. It is exactly what I love - a romantic HEA short story which you can listen to in between, just for something sweet.
I love dual POVs, it just makes every book better.
The MMC is really really grumpy and the FMC a little sunshine even if she has hard times in her life. To listen to their relationship grow and change him was sweet and amazing ♡

The way I devoured this in just a couple hours. I screamed when my early copy arrived in the mail, thanks Gabrielle! I was so irritated with Roan in Once Upon a Rose and Once Upon a Cat. But when I heard he was getting his redemption story, I could not wait! He went through so much as a young boy, that I can understand why he was so grumpy and standoffish. Abigail was such a ray of sunshine, and while they were in the dream/time curse, she did so much to brighten the tavern, and his life. Beastie is the best dog as well. I loved the dream curse idea and when they danced at night… swoon! So glad they got there happily ever after! Can’t wait for more stories in the world of Galamere!

Beauty and the Beast meets Sleeping Beauty set in Galamere

I love this retelling with a twist. What if the beast is a man who has to learn to care about something or someone else than his tavern? But his tavern is full of guests who are asleep. Except his barmaid.

During the day they upkeep the tavern, getting to know each other. During the night they dream together, while the guests are awake and up to shenanigans.

Romance is blooming. But is it enough to break the curse

Oh and there's a dog. A cute dog. And lots of secrets, between the man and the barmaid. Who might not be just a barmaid.

A Fractured Fable of Thorns and Fur
Four Point Four Stars
This retelling is a creative mixing of fairy tales where the Beast (Roan) is left behind after 'Beauty' walks away. Then Roan's Lucky Goat tavern is struck by the sleeping curse.
Abigail’s character is written with beautiful depth, providing a soulful anchor to the unfolding chaos as Roan and Abigail are forced to work together and slowly try to understand each other.
Beastie was perfect in every scene.
While the pacing has a few thorns, the emotional payoff for this lonely Beast makes it a lovely read. https://ok-readingcorner.blogspot.com...

This is a clever, cute and cosy mash-up of Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty. Although a stand alone, it is set in the same world as other books by the author and often references characters and events from those other books and leaves you wondering if you would enjoy it more if you were already familiar with those other books. Overall, it's a warm hug of a book that focuses on being comfortble, sweet and fun rather than dramatic or tense making it a perfect book to unwind with.

I received an ARC and voluntarily leave an honest review.
