When her phone dies in Yellowstone, she might just find a real connection.Ember Hollis is addicted to her phone and chasing relevance when a sudden microburst floods her Yellowstone campsite and waterlogs the one thing she can’t live without. Forced offline, she collides with Ridge a rugged, very hot park ranger with cowboy roots, muscles for days, and no cell phone at all.
As the wilderness strips away the filters, Ember is forced to face herself. And while the park buzzes over a legendary wolf returning to Yellowstone for her mate, Ember discovers a deeper love—one that leads her not just to a man, but back to Christ. A Clean, No-Spice Christian Romcom!
I have so much I could say about this book, but I’ll try to keep it short (though that’s hard when you love a book this much). I absolutely adored this story! This is only my second book by Cassandra, but it’s definitely my favorite so far. Her writing is just chef’s kiss. I caught myself smiling so many times while reading. Ember and Ridge… I seriously love them. Ember is a total city girl who’s basically glued to her phone, and she ends up spending some time in Yellowstone. That’s where she meets Ridge, a very handsome Christian park ranger who completely stole the show for me. He’s easily my favorite character. Watching Ember and Ridge spend time together and seeing the way things slowly start to change for Ember was so good. I liked Ember from the beginning, but by the end of the book I absolutely loved her. Honestly, do yourself a favor and read this book. I really don’t think you’ll regret it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! And thank you so much to Cassandra for letting me read this ARC!
3.5⭐️, rounded down because it doesn’t feel like 4⭐️ to me. It was very cute, my first time reading the author.
What I liked: - the faith content; blatant sharing of the Gospel numerous times and a couple of sweet “Come to Jesus” moments. - I appreciated the topic of our society being addicted to our cell phones and to social media. -the FMC has some decent character growth. -the MMC was firm in his convictions and did not give into his temptations.
What I didn’t like: -Ember was annoying; she started out insufferable and, even though she had some significant growth, I still never fully came around to liking her. -I also didn’t fully connect with the writing; it wasn’t bad per se, and I didn’t notice any significant grammar issues, but I felt like it was lacking layers and emotional depth.
Overall: It was cute and I read it in a day, so it was relatively unputdownable (although I’ve read other things faster), but not my favorite Christian romance. I am not giving up on the author though.
Yall I don’t know if I will ever get over Cassandra Joelle’s books, They have become my go-to for anytime I feel the least bit of a reading slump and let me just say that after the past couple extremely slow/dry weeks of reading I’ve had recently this book came at the perfect time! Everytime I finish one of Cassandra’s books I feel so encouraged in my faith and this book was certainly no different. The faith content was absolutely amazing! My favorite thing about this story was the way both Ridge and Ember grew greatly in their faith before they grew closer to each other which is something I feel like we lose too often in Christian fiction!!! I also love how amazing Cassandra is at writing FMC characters with all different personalities and character traits that aren’t just the typical relatable characters but each of them still find a special place in your heart! Guys the Yellowstone vibes were AMAZING... like I wish I could go now... just not with a purple tent obviously IYKYK🤣 Not gonna lie this book even had me wanting to throw the phone out and move to the woods🤭🤣🤣 Much like the last one God just used some verses in this book to speak to my heart in a special way and I’m so thankful for that. All that being said, if I haven’t convinced you already, just please go read this book, it was amazing and I promise you wont regret it😉😉🤭 As always, so enjoyed buddy reading this with @gracesliterarycorner I think we both agree that we NEED more🤭😂 And special thank you to @cassandrajoelle for this ARC, I’m quite obsessed once again! This review is completely voluntary and all opinions are my own!!
I love Cassandra Joelles writing so much 💖 I am so happy and honored that I got to be a part of her ARC Team and receive this ARC copy to review. I absolutely loved it. 6⭐️ read for me. It was absolutely relatable for me....made me really take a look at myself and see how I am guilty of always being distracted by my phone. Like Ember did...I need to take a step back and listen to what God is saying to me.💖 But anyways lets talk about the book shall we....In this beautiful, funny, rom com story we meet a social media influencer named Ember who travels to Yellowstone for a brand deal and to impress some lame influencer guy named Graham. While on her trip she meets the ruggedly handsome park ranger named Ridge who helps her discover herself, love and the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. 💖 Its absolutely perfect 👌😘💖 Here is One of my favorite quotes: "Repent. Jesus said to ‘take up your cross and follow’ Him. We are to turn away from our sinful lives. Have no other idols before God. No more lying, adulterous, deceitful, slanderous ways that get so many.” “I’ve never committed adultery.” I shook my head, not understanding his point. “Jesus said, just looking with lust is committing adultery in your heart. Just thinking of a sin is committing it. Like I said, the only man to ever be on earth who was sinless was Jesus.”- Ridge💖
Thank you Cassandra for this beautiful and amazing story!! You are one of my favorites and one that I can totally trust to deliver such perfect faith themed stories. 💖
One thing I appreciate about Cassandra is how she isn't afraid to tackle different topics in her books, and this one was no different.
Ember was quite interesting. She struggles with a strong addiction to her phone and social media, which I think is so realistic for the time we live in. Even if many of us aren't as addicted to the degree Ember was, I think a lot of us can relate to giving our phones more time than we probably should. Watching her grow, the convictions she experiences throughout the story, and seeing her mature not only as a person but also in her faith was just amazing.
Then there's Ridge. From the moment he appears, I loved him. I loved the way he helped Ember begin to see things differently and how he gently guided her as she worked through her struggles and started to realize the things that needed to change.
I also really appreciated how Cassandra gave the characters time to grow individually instead of rushing them straight into a relationship. This story definitely focuses a lot on Ember's personal growth and faith, but at the same time it still gives attention to the romance. I love when books treat faith just as important as the love story, and Cassandra does that so well.
I also got to buddy read this with @kn.ranchlifereads_25 (which has basically become our tradition with Cassandra's books now, 🤪) and that always makes the experience even better.! Overall, this was a wonderful book with great faith content and great characters.!
I had the pleasure of being one of the ARC readers for this beautiful story, and I truly cannot express enough how wonderful this book is. Even after finishing it, the characters are still living rent-free in my head.
Ridge and Ember are such incredible characters, and the flow of the story carries a powerful message of love, patience, and most of all—faith.
Who says a book needs smut to be phenomenal? Books are meant to bring joy to your heart, offer an escape from everyday life, and sometimes even help relieve stress.
I’m not saying those kinds of books are bad at all—they’re just not for me. And this story proves that a heartfelt, faith-filled romance can be just as powerful and unforgettable. Cassandra Joelle thank you so much.
Absolutely hooked from page one & read this in one sitting. Loved the short chapters that had me saying "just one more chapter" until I finished the entire thing.
This book was convicting, shared the Gospel, & was just a great time! I loved how both Traci & Ridge shared their faith without judgement on others. I think it showed how loving they were to others, especially Ember & Travis.
I love Cassandra's books because they are just so full of Jesus 🫶🏻
📖: 1st person, dual POV 🌶️: no spice 🤬: no foul language ⚠️: phone addiction/seeking validation, stranded
Such a fun read, and well written. The characters had great development and dealt with real world issues. The storyline of the FMC’s addiction to her phone and social media is so applicable to today.
Thank you to Cassandra Joelle for the pleasure of receiving an ARC of A Ranger, A Wolf and a Really Bad Tent. This is your best one yet!
A Ranger, a Wolf, and a Really Bad Tent is a refreshingly fun yet meaningful read! Another Wyoming-based read by Cassandra Joelle, this story takes place predominantly in Yellowstone National Park. Her writing is a treat, and you can't help but swoon over her adorable covers, and this latest release is no exception.
Ember, a social media influencer, goes on a solo camping adventure in Yellowstone to snap some Insta-worthy pics of athletic wear for her new brand deal, but she takes on way more than she bargained for! Having no clue how to camp, let alone survive in the wilderness, she ends up in danger when a microburst storm moves in suddenly. Ridge, a new ranger at Yellowstone National Park, has only had one very rude encounter with the newest guest that set up camp by his ranger station, but he springs into action to save her from a deadly storm and falling trees. With only the clothes on her back, Ember is forced to face life without her damaged phone. She goes through withdrawals and struggles to find herself again without the filters and unauthentic identity she had carefully curated on social media. Ridge takes care of her while she's stranded in the park, and tries to show her the beauty and peace of a world that exists off screen. Their friendship and attraction grow, but they part ways knowing God has not yet ordained a relationship between them.
I have to be honest...I strongly disliked Ember for a good half of the book. She is vapid, self-centered, and completely out of touch with reality. I had a hunch that she would have a massive amount of character growth in the book, because there's no way a character like Ridge would date someone like her. Yet, his attraction to her was instant, and very early on he seemed to sense she was "the one". I'm not sure how I felt about this, because she was very rude to him, and it was obvious that their values did not align. So while his attraction to her in any way but physical was a stretch, I did appreciate that he continuously prayed for both of their hearts to be guarded if she wasn't the right one for him. Even when temped by her attempt at intimacy (kissing), he held his ground and shared his reasons for total abstinence with her. It was truly a Christ-first romance, where both characters set aside their feelings to wait for God's direction.
The faith content in the story was consistent and strong, which I didn't expect from a rom-com. Ridge has a strong relationship with God, and it seeped into almost every conversation he had with Ember. Slowly, his authenticity and deep convictions begin to make her reflect, and she ends up feeling convicted about her lifestyle, and rededicates her life to Christ. The redemption arc was a big part of the story, and it's not just a quickly forgotten event in her life, but truly transforms Ember from the inside out. By the end, I really grew to like her as a character, and appreciated the growth that took place throughout the story.
I love that this book touched a really important issue that is so relevant to our time. Phones and social media can be a great thing and wonderful tools, but screen addictions and social media overconsumption are very real. I've personally been impacted by the devastating effects of a loved one dealing with this. I appreciate so much that the author tackled this issue head on, in a really uplifting, healing, and hopeful way!
What I enjoyed about the story: ⛺ Yellowstone/Wyoming setting ⛺ National Park setting ⛺ Wolf side-plot ⛺ Ruggedly handsome MMC ⛺ Themes dealing with screen addiction & social media consumption ⛺ Ample character growth & redemption arc ⛺ Mini adventures around the park
⚠️ Content warnings: - Microburst storm, extreme wind - Being stranded far from home
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫 4.5 Stars
This is such a fun rom-com that's a quick read and has lots of faith content! The book releases on March 10; be sure to snag the book from the author's website to get the adorable book-related goodies!
Ember Hollis is trying to get her internet crush’s attention by posting photos on Instagram that will wow him. She’s addicted to her phone and can’t help herself to look when she gets a new notification. She likes the feeling of being chosen, seen, preferred. She’s a rep for an outdoor clothing company and decides to go camping for the first time to get some good shots for her to model the clothing. She purchases a cheap tent and heads to Yellowstone National Park.
Ridge is working in Yellowstone as a ranger and has to monitor a wolf that is being tracked from New Mexico up north to Yellowstone in search of something. He soon finds Ember set up to camp along a trail that might have bears and warns her. Ember realizes she has no cell service and doesn’t know how she will survive without WiFi.
When a fast storm blows through and tears up Ember’s tent and car, Ridge brings her to the work cabin to figure things out. They have a strong physical attraction to each other but he wants to wait to see what God wants for him first. Ember is very focused on her looks and her followers and only cares about herself. Her time in Yellowstone is definitely not what she thought it was going to be.
Fave quote: “God can forgive you because of your mistakes and you need to accept His love and grow from it. It’s never too late to change.”
I’ve never been someone obsessed with their phone or social media but I definitely know a lot of people who are, especially on IG. Like Ember, they are fueled by how many likes, comments, views, and followers they have. They have to get the aesthetic shots.
I loved this story and how Ember matured and developed as time went on. Cassandra Joelle writes from her heart and shares her faith while adding comedy and spice-free romance. I’ve always wanted to visit Yellowstone and I felt like I was right there with the animals and smell of pine trees! I also loved what she did with the wolf coming back. This is another book to add to your collection and to share with your besties.
Thank you to Cassandra Joelle, for the ARC! It was an honor to read your newest book. Well done!
A sweet Christian romance about a woman who stops allowing her phone to distract her from the blessings of God.
This book was being promoted by so many people on Bookstagram and the description sounded so fun and unique. So when I saw that it was available on KU, I downloaded it right away.
A Ranger, A Wolf and a Really Bad Tent by Cassandra Noelle is very much a faith centered book. Faith it not a subtle theme in this book, it is the main premise.
You are introduced to Ember, who is a social media influencer who cares more about her image and her followers that anyone else around her. Then comes Ridge, a park ranger in Yellowstone, who is a faithful man of God. The two couldn’t be more opposite, and yet God was on move. While Ember is discovering true faith for the first time, Ridge is obediently depending on the Lord during a season of waiting.
I really appreciated that this book addresses what so many of us deal with, phone and social media addiction. It’s rampant! And because it’s socially acceptable, most people don’t take it seriously.
My favorite quote from the book was “I was starting to see how God had brought me here for a reason because this was the only way He could get a hold of me. It was not lost on me what without my cell phone, while feeling the most disconnected I’d ever felt in my life, I was starting to discover something real.”
Ember had a CRAZY character transformation. This girl was INFURIATING! She was so incredibly selfish, impulsive and vain! I loved watching her come to accept Christ, take BIG BOLD steps of faith, set healthy boundaries and begin to thrive. She grew on me by the end.
I liked Ridge, he is what every Christian should be – overflowing with joy and love for his Savior. But I also struggled with the fact that his character felt unrealistic, too perfect. I wished I had seen a bit more of his own personal struggle too, not just Embers.
Also, the romantic relationship felt a bit juvenile, BUT while that’s not my preference – I think this would be a PERFECT book for a teenage or college age girl.
Cassandra Joelle’s A Ranger, a Wolf, and a Really Bad Tent is the kind of book that shows up with charming chapter titles and immediately announces, “Relax, I’m here to be a good time.” It’s a light, outdoorsy romance with a strong faith thread, set against the very unforgiving reality of Yellowstone (where nature does not care about your brand deal). The story follows Ember, a Denver-based social media influencer who’s chasing validation, engagement, and a shiny new “influencer life” that looks a lot better on a screen than it does in the wild.
Ember’s first big brand partnership being… hiking gear… is both hilarious and painfully fitting, because she’s wildly underprepared and still convinced she can knock out a quick overnight trip like it’s a content errand. She’s glued to her phone, fueled by likes, and determined to prove she’s thriving, even when she’s clearly flailing. That contrast between curated confidence and real-life chaos is a big part of what makes the early chapters entertaining, especially once she realizes Yellowstone is not exactly built around WiFi, skincare routines, or convenient recharge stations.
What really got me is how much this book leans into personal growth without getting preachy or melodramatic. Ember’s relationship with technology is treated like what it is: an addiction wrapped in shiny packaging. Watching her wrestle with identity, validation, and the fear of being unseen was more thoughtful than I expected from a story with this title (which I mean as a compliment).
Ridge is the attractive park ranger stationed at the national park and he is a faith-driven man which is written as something lived and practiced, not used as a prop, and the theme of grace shows up in a way that feels consistent with who he is.
By the end, this is a satisfying “reset your life” story: less about instant perfection and more about learning humility, boundaries, and what matters when the noise gets turned off.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Ahh, this is another fun Christian romcom to add to my favorites list!
The story follows Ember, who's stranded in Yellowstone after an extreme weather event. I LOVED the setting. The initial camp setup creates a brief low-stakes survival feel, and there are also great themes of appreciating the beauty of God's creation. The wildlife aspects are fun too - especially the ranger's wolf tracking mission!
The clean romance is an interesting journey. Ridge is such a sweet guy - and a total outdoor enthusiast! Ember is basically his opposite in every way. Certain aspects of their attraction felt a bit too instant for my preferences, but I still really enjoyed seeing how things progressed and found myself rooting for a sweet ending!
Most of all, I appreciated the prominent faith content. There are SO many discussions of salvation through Jesus and learning to follow Godly convictions. Ember's process of overcoming her attachment to social media/modern technology also presents a great message.
If you're interested in adult romances with beautiful settings, character growth, and strong Christian themes, I'd definitely recommend this!
*Content to note* Brief discussions of saving physical intimacy for marriage (no sexual details). Character considers her mildly-revealing clothing choices (skintight jeans, etc.) Brief scene of side character dealing with depression.
**Thank you to the author for providing a complimentary e-ARC. All thoughts expressed are my own.**
If you're a fan of books with a sweet, heartfelt romance that also leave you with some wonderful life lessons, then Cassandra Joelle is your girl! I love how Cassandra is able to effortlessly incorporate messages of faith, grace, and godly living into a sweet, funny romance! This oh-so-cute story of the tough, masculine, Jesus-loving Yellowstone Ranger Ridge and his unexpected connection with the beautiful, phone-addicted, slightly-lost (in more ways than one) Ember had me laughing and "aawww"-ing my way through each chapter. I really enjoy how Cassandra is able to write characters who have undeniable (and in this story, pretty much instant) attraction to each other and swoon-worthy chemistry, yet the romance is not rushed or based solely on physical attraction, but rather their love slowly grows deeper as the characters grow in maturity, patience, and Christ-like love. I really liked the main male character, Ridge. In our world today where strong, Biblical manhood is often mistakenly accused of being "toxic masculinity", I thought it was wonderful that this story highlighted how Ridge's tough, protective, godly masculinity is what made him so attractive to Ember and was part of what made him so selfless, gracious, caring, and Christ-like. I also really enjoyed the redemptive character arc of Ember. Her spiritual growth in this story was very real and relatable. In this book, Cassandra has given her readers an adorable, swoony, funny romance that also honors God and emphasizes the importance and blessings of waiting on God's plan and timing and trusting the Lord with every aspect of your life and relationships!
(I was given a free copy of this book from the author, but all reviews and opinions are mine, are voluntary, and are 100% honest.)
I signed up for this ARC read expecting a light, fun read of adventure, a cute romance, and a happily ever after… I was wrong. This book was SO much more!!!
Ms. Cassandra hit the nail on the head as far as bringing up the issue that a lot of us struggle with today… Addiction to our phones and to the internet. I never thought of myself as truly addicted to my phone. Like, I read quite a bit of Ebooks, but you know, “That’s different, ‘cause it’s just a book.” Reading this book challenged me in my personal walk with Christ, as I now realize I haven’t been very good at stewarding my time wisely and have definitely not spent enough time reading His Word. Ember was a flawed woman searching for love and validation from a world that is quite fickle; swaying with every trend that stays for a week and is forgotten within the endless posts we scroll through on a daily basis. Ridge was a deeply rooted man in his faith, not afraid to share the gospel at every turn. A humble, strong, and knowledgeable man that truly set the standard of a Biblical man of the house. (So in simple terms, “He’s totally a green flag! Haha) “A Ranger, A Wolf, and a Really Bad Tent” showcased a beautiful love story that encourages a long term, God-centered relationship, and the struggle on waiting on God’s timing.
🌲Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (all the stars) 🌲Cursing/Swearing: None 🌲Romance: Sweet, non-descriptive kiss 🌲Tropes: 📍Forced Proximity 📍Cowboy x City Girl 📍Dual POV 📍Slow Burn Romance 📍He Takes Care of Her 📍Forrest Ranger MMC 📍Social Media Influencer FMC
This adorable story had so many really good messages in it. It definitely made me rethink my relationships with God, others, and social media. ☺️
I loved Ridge. He was heroic, virtuous, principled, upstanding, chivalrous, and strong (in so many ways). He was a giant green flag. If you love your MMCs being the complete opposite of morally gray, you will adore Ridge. 😍
Ember went through quite the journey and I loved watching her growth and development. It was inspiring to watch her turn her life around by turning it to God.
I really like how @cassandrajoelle paced the relationship. It was so different than any other love story I’ve read but it was 100% the right move here and I LOVED it. 💕
It was a great read as an adult but I would 100% let a teen read this too. Honestly, it might actually be really good for them. 🫶🏻
Expect: - Opposites attract - Forced proximity - He saves her from a storm - Happy ending
- Kisses only (chaste, not detailed) - No profanity - No violence unless you count what nature unleashes
- Dual Perspective (1st person) - their inner thoughts cracked me up so many times! 🤣
Content: A side character intentionally puts himself in a dangerous situation because he doesn’t want to live anymore, but he is saved (in more ways than one).
The writing style is more unique - but I think that is because you are hearing the character’s thoughts in real time.
5/5 🌟 because this story really convicted me to do better in my walk with the Lord and not obsess over social media. We've all been there, haven't we? Looking for validation, encouragement, friendship, love, adoration, likes, follows, popularity, the list goes on and on. And where do we look for these things and find them at a superficial level? Social Media of course. It's so easy to run to, to crave. But in reality, it will not give us what we need most, a love that lasts, that feels secure, that feels safe, sure. The only true friend any of us could ever have is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Who gives us grace upon grace, and loved us enough to die in our place to pay for our sin debt. Praise God He rose again, conquering death, so that we might live and someday be with Him in glory. Amen! Ember and Ridge needed each other to see and solidify these things, which was good to see. Faith content was excellent Romance: kisses only, there is body noticing also. (Its a romcom after all) CW: none really, there is a storm that comes through and destroys all of her stuff, but no harm to humans, mentions of bears eating on a deceased buffalo but no gory details. Thank you @cassandrajoelle for giving me this ARC, and getting this preorder shipped to me before release day. I love it! March 10th is release day!
Ridge loves the great outdoors that God created. Ember is a rising influencer trying to make it on her own. She’s addicted to her phone and losing herself trying to live life on her own terms. After an impulsive decision o go camping at Yellowstone National Park, she finds herself wildly unprepared. Thankfully, Ridge is there to save the day. His unwavering joy drives Ember crazy. The two find themselves together for a few days and while sparks fly, Ridge patiently waits on the Lord.
Can Ember acknowledge her convictions and stop drowning out the world with distractions? Are the two really meant for one another?
What I loved: 🏕️ Ridge- he’s so patient and focused on God 🏕️Ember- even though she’s hard to like at first, her maturity and spiritual growth will have you cheering her on 🏕️The park and outdoors setting- makes me want to grab my tent and hit the trails 🏕️The side story of the wolf 🏕️All the personal growth 🏕️Themes of faith and the focus on God’s mercy
Another fantastic book by Cassandra. I did not want to put it down. I loved the camp setting and the characters were so well written. Pick this one up if you’re feeling like an outdoorsy romcom with lots of faith themes. This book will really make you pause and think about your own social media/technology use.
Cassandra Joelle's books have quickly become ones that I very much look forward to reading. Not only are the covers absolutely adorable, but the stories inside are just as good too... with unique storylines, laugh out loud moments, swoon worthy romance and stories that ultimately always keep God at the center. This one was no exception. To say Ember and Ridge are complete opposites would be an understatement. She's a social media influencer whose life revolves around her phone, and he's a park ranger who doesn't even have one. The dynamic and chemistry between these two was great, but more than anything I really loved seeing Ember's growth throughout this story... not only with her phone addiction (which unfortunately is a topic that I think so many are going to be able to relate to... even if not quite at the same level), but also her relationship with God. If you love a romance that is both unapologetically Christian and that will keep you smiling, this one is it!
A Ranger, A Wolf, and A Really Bad Tent is a Christian romance with kisses only and no language.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
- 1st Person, Dual POV - Christian Romance - Kisses Only Romance
"...we were all living for the first time. No one knows what they are doing, but God does. And only He can lead us on the right path."
This was such a sweet and faith filled read. Being from Wyoming myself, I love that this takes place in Yellowstone National Park. Cassandra did a great job showing some of the struggles the park rangers face when it comes to tourists and their sometimes baffling behavior ("Still, despite my job as a ranger, I knew I couldn't stop every knucklehead from doing all of the knucklehead things they were going to do.")
And Cassandra, you had me right from the start with your adorable cover and creative title. I also really liked the chapter headers and art.
This story was full of beautiful writing, humor, sweet moments, serious moments, and plenty of smack your face and shake your head moments (Seriously, the tourists in Yellowstone give all other tourists a really bad name). There were also some hard times, yet so many faith filled messages.
The characters were written well and fulfilled their character purposes how they were meant to. Ridge was my favorite. There's just something about a really kind, yet strong man, who is living his life for God. He was a fantastic example to the others around him and held strong to his convictions. And oh boy, did he have a crazy amount of patience.
When things were hard, there was prayer. When help was needed, God sent guidance. We saw characters being used for God's greater purpose and helping others. Then there was grace, mercy, and the sharing of God's word.
I received an advanced review copy of this book. This review is my honest opinion and thoughts
I received an ARC of A Ranger, A Wolf, and a Really Bad Tent by Cassandra Joelle, and it was such a charming and heartfelt story.
Set against the beautiful wilderness of Yellowstone, this romance follows Ember Hollis, a woman who is constantly connected to her phone and the online world. When a sudden storm floods her campsite and leaves her without the one thing she relies on most, she’s forced to slow down and face life offline. That’s when she meets Ridge Sawyer, a rugged park ranger who lives a completely different kind of life.
What I loved most about this story was the setting and the message. The Yellowstone atmosphere feels vivid and peaceful, and the themes of stepping away from constant noise and rediscovering what truly matters are woven beautifully into the story. Ridge is the kind of steady, grounded hero that fits the setting perfectly.
The book also includes a meaningful faith element, showing Ember’s journey not only toward love but also toward a deeper spiritual connection.
If you enjoy clean romance, nature settings, and faith-centered stories with heart, this is a lovely read.
If you love nature, romance, and faith themes; this book is for YOU!🩷✨🥹
While Ember strives to grow her followers on social media and grain attention from her celebrity crush; Ridge stays far away from the online world, working as a ranger to connect with nature and listen to the Lord’s guidance for his life.
When a storm takes place in Yellowstone, causing Ember’s car to be crushed, tent to be ruined, and cellphone left not working, she takes Ridge up on his offer to help figure things out.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and the growth of each of the characters. It has encouraged me to take a step back from my phone myself, and be present in my day to day adventures.
This might have been my first Cassandra Joelle book, but it certainly will not be my last!🩷
Thank you, Cassandra Joelle, for the ARC. You are beyond talented, and I am very excited to see how God continues to use your writing talents.
This book was like a breath of fresh air--literally! Cassandra's settings never disappoint, and this book was no exception. And now I have an itch to go out West that I can't afford to scratch! Ridge--like all of Cassandra's MMCs--was an absolute angel. Where do I find a man like that?! I absolutely adored every second in his pov. But we all know the real star of the show was Ember. This is only the third book of Cassandra's that I've read, but I still can say confidently that Ember is her most relatable FMC. I may not be an influencer, but I think everyone in this generation understands a phone addiction. How many of us would also instinctively reach for our phone even though it's dead dead? But the best part of this book was that Ember's arc was SO realistic and SO beautiful. And the way her and Ridge ended up together?! UGH, just perfection! Thank you for blessing me with another ARC, and for blessing the world with another amazing Christian romcom!
I want to thank Cassandra Joelle for gifting me this beautiful ARC.
This was such an amazing story. I used to love hiking, and life took me away from that for a while, but reading this reminded me of how peaceful and beautiful being in nature can be.
I haven’t been to Yosemite, but it is now on my bucket list. The description of the setting made you feel like you are right there in the mountains, surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation.
I loved the way Ridge demonstrated his faith by simply being Christ like in a way that encouraged others. He didn’t pressure anyone or force his beliefs on others. It was really beautiful to see.
I also loved the wolves. The way they connected to Ridge & Embers relationship was incredibly meaningful. This story left me with such a hopeful feeling. It reminded me that nothing is impossible with God, and that sometimes healing, love, and faith can be found in the most unexpected places.
I was given a free copy of this book and have decided to share my honest review:
A Ranger, A Wolf, and A Really Bad Tent by Cassandra Joelle is such a cute, uplifting, and clean Christian romance book! The story follows Ember, a social media influence who is glued to her phone, and Ridge, a Yellowstone National Park ranger who practically could not care less that cell phones even exist.
After some interesting decisions from Ember, Ember and Ridge meet at Yellowstone and share a wild adventure. This story has a whole lot of faith themes, animal stories, and sweet moments. It’s the perfect read for anyone who loves clean romance, Christian romance, cowboys, the outdoors, or who might need a little nudge to put their phone away sometimes 🤷♀️.
The story has personal growth, crazy situations, beautifully described scenery, lots of animals, and of course a ranger, a wolf, and a really bad purple tent. 😉
This book is the epitome of a swoony love story. Ember wants more than anything to be a social media influencer. She’s very sporadic in her planning and decides on a whim to go tent camping in Yellowstone National Park in hopes to get more followers and to help get ratings on her clothing sponsorship. Ember’s camping excursion does not go as planned. Through a series of unfortunate events Ember meets park ranger, Ridge. Ridge is a man after God’s own heart. He loves being in nature, having no social media, no cell phone and just a simple way of life - everything opposite of Ember. If you want to know Ember and Ridge’s story, I highly recommend you read this book! Themes: *clean romance *Christian romance *no spice *forced proximity *forgiveness *opposites attract *second chances *God’s grace *nature
A Ranger, A Wolf, and A Really Bad Tent had so much potential. I love the overall storyline, but I had a hard time enjoying the book because I couldn’t stand the main female lead, Ember. The religious aspect of the book was also a little much for me. And that’s an odd thing for me to say, because I am a religious person. Despite my issues with Ember and Ridge, I loved the ending of the book. I thought it was very well done.

This is a Christian rom-com about a girl obsessed with her phone and a guy who couldn’t care less about technology. Faith is a theme all throughout the book with the main characters striving to be who they are called to be. This was my first book where the setting is a national park and I loved the descriptions. There is a scene towards the end where the FMC makes a firm choice and does something totally unexpected before getting back into her life. When I tell you I was wheezing, that’s not an exaggeration. This book is like watching a hallmark movie where the characters start out floundering and through fun circumstances they become better in the end. I don’t know if that analogy makes sense but just trust me in this.
This sweet Christian rom-com pairs Ridge, an outdoorsy park ranger with a heart of gold, and Ember, a city influencer who’s more comfortable with Wi-Fi than wilderness. When Ember travels to Yellowstone for take picture for her hiking brand campaign deal, a sudden storm leaves her stranded and Ridge comes to the rescue. Their chemistry is undeniable, even if their attraction develops a little too quickly for my taste. What stood out most was the faith element and Ember’s personal journey as she learns to let go of the online persona she’s built and rediscover what truly matters. With beautiful scenery and heartfelt growth, this is a great pick. Thank you to the author for the eARC, this is my honest review.
I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy of this Clean Christian Romcom and it was absolutely so much fun! The Yellowstone setting was perfect! Especially since I love it there! And the story of Ember getting stranded and meeting Ranger Ridge was cozy, adventurous, and just a little chaotic in the very best way!
This light, clean romcom was easy to get through and genuinely so funny, especially the whole terrible tent situation! I also loved the Christian elements! They felt natural and added a meaningful touch to the romance! Overall, this book is such a sweet, uplifting read that left me smiling, and wanting to get back into the park!
