Creatures Great and Small #2
A Place Called Home
You can take the woman out of the country…
When Ellie Nelson traded life in rural England for the big city, she left painful memories behind. Coming home to Little Dale means getting back in touch with nature and the animals that inspire her. And a local wildlife vet could even help the fledgling painter realize her dreams. Except he's the one who broke her heart.
Andy Montgomery has to tread with caution. He can't put the creatures he's sworn to protect at risk. And Ellie isn't ready to trust him again. He doesn't blame her—he still hasn't told her his biggest secret. Once he does, will Ellie leave their close-knit community forever?

OMG! Grow up! Ellie and Andy broke up when they were 16/17 years old. Ellie still doesn't trust him after nearly a decade. 374 pages of this nonsense and 1-1/2 pages of undying love. C'mon, major barf!

Second in the series about the Lake District vets and farmers, Andy Montgomery has never stopped loved Ellie Nelson, but she doesn't believe they have a future--not after he broke up with her and married someone else.
When Ellie comes home to her father's farm, she's still intent on growing her reputation as an artist, but Andy thinks she's not about to stick around.
Having to wait until the very end to resolve their differences and previous misunderstandings (instead of the many issues gradually reducing in number over the course of the book)got old after a while, but at least things ended on a happy note.
