Redemption Arc #2

Redemption Arc, Book 2: A GameLit Progression Fantasy

Rate this book
With a new 'ally,' Aurelia, at his side, Lucian Villamar hasn't yet gained the chance to rest in his struggle for survival. The threat of assassination by demons remains a very real possibility, and he has to sleep with both eyes open. A trial looms large overhead, its outcome deciding which direction the future will take. His advantage of knowledge is slipping out of his grip as his actions cause the timeline he knew to butterfly further out of control. But hard times have made a hard man, and Lucian finds himself increasingly capable of enacting change. In fact, he sets his eye toward the prize that the main antagonist, the First Emperor, covets. If he plays his cards right, he might be able to steal a grand opportunity right under the noses of the demons. His 'ally,' meanwhile... can he trust anything Aurelia does? Is her cooperation genuine, or is she merely waiting for the right moment to strike?

Or could their association end in ways neither predicted?

I was here

Good story I enjoy it not sure why I haven’t seen it before on here . My personal preference for a story like this is for the Mc not to tell other characters that it’s a game world . I dunno why , I it’s the dissonance of it breaks immersion for me .
I shall continue!

Not sure how to rate this now, personal enjoyment is down to 2.5-3...objectively it's 3.5. Spoilers from here, the MC gives up trying to hide for the most part, gave up his advantage over the plot, the romance is the only reason I'm still invested, seems like an enemies to lovers setup. It redeems it's self a bit by the end, so I'll give the next one a try at least, hope it improves.
