Book three out of the nine Crystal books in the Searchlight series. I cried a bunch in this one, loved it. Still good storyline, plot thickens, loads of action. Good versus evil and some grey area in between, fleshed out and flawed characters. Christian suspense for YA. I can recommend for ages and up, there is talk of torture and rape, and there is fighting and violence. I give this book five stars and will definitely finish the series.
Crystal lost one of the four guys that joined her group to take down the SOP and another one left the group. The guys all question her God for letting one of them die. She even has a moment where she questions God herself and wonders if all of them should just quit. She then thinks of her friend and brother that was killed and knows she has to keep on. This book brought tears, hidden secrets of her family and how all of them realize that her God ultimately saved her. More questions are raised and feelings are brought out between her and one of the guys. On to book number four….
I couldn't put it down. I would love to read the rest of them but I can't because I don't have the money to buy them. At the end it made me cry because you could tell Donovan loved Crystal. He did everything for her that he could and it came with a costly price. My eyes were tearing up because I have read everyone in this series so far and I felt like I've known the character's. That is how you write a good book. You can feel the characters emotions and thoughts. Sorry if it doesn't make sense.
I'm not happy with how crude some of the language and interactions are in this book . I still would like to finish the series but they are no longer free .
Overall this book is not bad. However, there is some talk about the size of one of the character's private parts at one point in this book. I don't believe this is suitable content for a Christian book.
