Retitled edition for ASIN B00SXWN1VM can be found here: With a Brave Heart

It only took one letter to make every painful memory resurface. But it took Kyleigh Helton thirteen years to bury those memories. The question in that letter will force her to make a difficult decision. Forgive, or continue to let resentment and anger consume her fragile core.

The simple life she craves seems miles away when she’s dealing with an ex who won’t let her go and a boyfriend whose problems mimic a past she’d rather forget.

She realizes it’s time for things to change. But every decision and change she makes has a consequence, and she begins to wonder if she's strong enough to handle them.

David Madison has been struggling with guilt and grief since his brother’s death and finds comfort in the one thing Kyleigh despises. When a phone call pushes him over the edge and guilt consumes him even more, he breaks a promise to Kyleigh that threatens to tear them apart.

As quickly as things fall back into place, his world shatters again, pushing him to the breaking point, and he begins to wonder how much more he can take before he turns to the one addiction that started it all.

But he can’t. He promised. He needs to stay strong for Kyleigh. Because now she needs him more than ever, and he won’t let her down again.

Born and raised in Indiana, Tara Neideffer grew up with a fascination for the macabre. She is always on the hunt for a good ghost story and has a morbid obsession with watching murder mystery shows. She also has a love for animals, especially horses, and as a child she could be found in the saddle, running her horse at full speed through open fields. When she's not busy writing, she's taking care of her animals, spending time with her family, or reading. She still lives in a small town in Indiana, hunting ghosts and taking care of her daughter.

*Caution: Read when sober because this is one drunken tale about the sins of alcohol.

I am astonished to learn that one can cure one's self from alcoholism by the power of self will alone.

Fact: The hero is an alcoholic. When he stresses he drinks unless he judges it to be a life & situation than he abstains.

Chapter 29/34

Blowing out a frustrated breath, he gritted his teeth, hoping to crush the need to drink down.He didn't need this added stress right now. But he knew the urge to drink was from the stress he was consumed with.

Chapter 32/34

“David, are you sure you’re doing okay? You don’t talk about it and I think you should.”

I can’t keep dwelling on it, so the only thing I can do is not think about it and move on as best as I can. I regret a lot, but if I let it consume me, then I’m afraid I’ll relapse. So, I keep those thoughts away and focus on the positive. The positive being you.” He kissed the top of her head and added, “Don’t worry, I’m grieving in my own way, and I’ll be fine. When I’m not taking care of you, I’m working on bikes and keeping my head clear and my drinks clean.”

The heroine should know better considering her family situation, alcoholism if left untreated has fatal results.I hope for her well being that history does not repeat itself. Her aunt did mention her father was a good man before drugs & drink took hold of him.He had loved her mother at one time & look how that ended.

Lets hope the hero has a stress free HEA because neither him nor his girlfriend has ever mentioned having attended grief counseling, rape counseling nor alcoholics anon seeing as how they have enough baggage ac-cumulatively to sink the titanic.I guess intervention was too banal too mention in this fairy tale.

Maybe I skipped that part.
