I discovered this book after the author was announced to be signing at our local bookstore! The description had me hooked right away so I had to start it before I met her! I was not disappointed. This book has all the vibes! I had such a good time reading. And it’s a debut?! Crazy.

This author’s writing is also so unique and captivating. She writes in this beautiful poetic style that I enjoyed a lot. I even slowed my reading pace down just to take in more of how the words and sentences were structured and flowed.

The story itself is like a dark, adult Once Upon a Broken Heart (which I also love). Great dark vibes and plot! Characters had complex reactions and motivations that do leave you wanting to know more about them and why they are doing what they’re doing. Fingers crossed for more reveals in book 2!!!

Only thing I would have enjoyed more of is Cara. I mean who doesn’t want more sassy dragons?

I’ll be honest, it took me a few chapters to really get into this book but once I did, I couldn’t put it down. The manipulation, yearning, and forced proximity had me hooked in the best way! And now? I need to know what happens next.

SPICE, FATED MATES, LET THE WORLD BURN, HIDDEN IDENTITY, DARK DEALS, RUNAWAY BRIDE, TENSION, DRAGONS

Somewhere in the realm of Lyth, Everlee Dove is on the run. Alone and afraid, she stumbles into the home of none other than the Grand Duke of Zemira, Adonis Harts. The dangerous and powerful Adonis pulls Everlee into a deal. Her fate is in his hands. As she’s pulled deeper and deeper into his world of ancient games and deadly politics, Everlee is faced with a choice: to fall for the monster who with the power to reshape her destiny or become a monster herself.

A beautifully crafted dark fantasy romance. One of the first dark romantasy books that completely hooked me into this sub-genre. The writing is so poetic. Every line captivates you, evoking an emotion or a thought of where the story will take you next. Everlee is smart and a survivor. She’s lost and just wants to feel at home again, something so relatable. Adonis has been hurt so many times. You are so easily pulled into this world with Everlee and Adonis. Their love for each other a constant battle. The magic system in this book is so unique compared to anything I’ve read. I love the main characters and how their relationship developed. I also loved Lyssa and Cara of course. The spice was so well done. The cliffhanger at the end? Gosh. The second half of the book I read in a single sitting. You cannot put it down once it really gets going. The way everything starts to piece together and unfold. Reading this book, you know it was truly cared for and loved by the author. She put her blood, sweat, and tears into this story. That much is evident when you read it. I will reread this book until the end of time, and I cannot wait for the second to come out so I can add it to my shelf! If you enjoy dark romantasy, please pick this up! It is so different from what you see on shelves now!
