Set in the year 2316 AD, Commander Ben Dreyfus and his fleet have just arrived back to base after engaging the enemy Jagar Battlecruisers out in Sector 9. He is concerned about the loss of a Starcruiser during the engagement, something he feels strongly about because it should not have happened under his command. The only possible conclusion he can arrive at is the Jagars now possess the technology equal to any Starcruiser and, in his mind; it raises the spectre of a time/space conflict. Ben’s immediate task is to convince Star Marshal Thompson the threat is real and, therefore, create a Task Force to engage and destroy any Jagar Battlecruiser intent on travelling back in time to change Earth’s history in order to gain technological superiority in the present time. Ben is tasked with seeking out and destroying three Jagar Battlecruiser that have ventured back into different time zones with Alpha and Omega, two Starcruisers taken out of fleet service to carry out this perilous and mysterious mission. While travelling through different time zones Ben realises he has become involved in events which seem to be predestined, where ‘cause and effect' are not as clear cut when seen at first glance. After their primary mission is successfully concluded Alpha and Omega arrive back in their own time zone only to be confronted by two-thousand Jagar Battlecruisers overrunning Earth’s defences. It is left to Alpha and Omega to save Earth using the secrets Ben and two of his Commanders have discovered from past, present and future. How will they be able to overcome the invasion force? Can the Jagars be trusted to maintain peace or are they intent on conquering Earth. Join Ben and his Commanders seeking ways to overcome old advisories new barriers that nobody has experienced before on their journey into the unknown. Author’s Note The author is often frustrated when he watches films or reads books which contain flaws in their logic, to find a story without flaws is a rarity but a satisfying experience. This book tries to meet the author’s high standard of scrutiny so it is a radical departure from the mainstream thinking of space battles and time travel, which sci-fi writers perpetuate. The story brings reality into the equation of time and space and the author has taken care to think in great depth about the possible problems that need to be overcome in the future. Poetic licence is kept to a minimum. All the crewmembers are highly trained specialists who are not given to normal emotional outbursts and when emotions take over, common-sense is lost. The men in charge of a Starcruiser, with the ability to destroy a planet, need to maintain consistency and optimum performance under any stressful situation. There is no element of chance in the actual space battles, no dog fighting or spacecraft dodging enemy weapons that are fired at the speed of light. The reality is that the all outcomes in battles depend on two factors; do the enemy have more fire power than the opposing side and can the tactics employed overcome any disadvantage. How can such a book grip the reader if everything is carried out with clinical precision? The answer lies in the plot twisting and turning from one chapter to another. When the book concludes you will have travelled, as an observer, at an exhausting pace and have a new insight that will allow you to think deeper about the events that have taken place.
